Or just run Winamp, WMP or whatever music app you want, minimize and then play GalCiv2. Easy as pie.

Looks like there is an option right on that screen called "allow entire script this time". Bet you can click on that and you'd be all set.
Note that the graphic for the planet matches the class of the planet. You can easily get Mars up to 7 or 8 which is pretty much like base Earth. Thus, oceans may be present on a class 7/8 planet. Plus with terraforming in the future I'm sure oceans will exist again.
SDC is about as easy as you can get to use. Click on Tools | Register products. Plop in your GC2 code. Click on games, locate GC2 in games and click the *install* button. Not too hard. As for all the "crap" of other games in there. You must not be aware that SDC is how Stardock delivers *all* of their software to their customers. GC2 is just a small part of their business.
I would definately not buy any MP only expansion. I also would hesitate to buy an expansion that was MP but included a few extra goodies. I probably would not as the game is fine as it is. Don't sucker your customers into buying a MP expansion by including a few SP "extras". The amount of support you'll need to have ongoing for a MP environment doesn't seem to be worth the effort (but that's just me).
RE: Pizza. Little Ceasar's "hot and ready" - $5 for large pepperoni anytime. You know you're in Michigan when the "Big 3" doesn't just mean the automakers. It also means Pizza Hut, Little Ceasar's and Hungry Howies. Now back to the game.... If the ship pack had quit a bit of content including new hulls and maybe some new core ships t
Another stake in the DRM coffin is Elder Scrolls Oblivion. The only DRM on the game is a cd check. That's it. And it's sold well over 1 million copies already. Make a good game and people will buy it.
Make sure you're not zoomed all the way out in tactical view. Scroll your wheel mouse to zoom in more. However if you actually got an error message that your card doesn't support DirectX 9 and that is actually the case then: 1) See if your card has any new drivers or bios that may allow it to support DX9 2) If not you'll need a new video card. Post your debug.err file here and all of that info will be revealed.</f
So my P4 1.8GHz 1GB RAM and GeForce FX 5700 is just a doorstop and paperweight then. Pretty much. To give a little perspective: I have a P4 2.8 ghz, 1 gig RAM, ATI 9800 Pro 128meg. Granted built 2 years ago now. This rig does *not*
Yes, Vista has been pushed back to early 2007, at the earliest. As for GalCiv 2, I believe they tested it on the Vista beta and it runs.
And Sensors are needed for most of the core ships if you care about them. Sensors only take a couple turns to research anyway. I'll create a special "Searcher" type ship loaded with engines and sensors and station them at key choke points or key trade lanes to give me advance warning of ships coming my way. Very key if your fleet is spread out across vast areas. They may not be as useful on smaller maps but if you play large and bigger they are ver
Yea, email support, that's your best option.
Torian are usually good. I've had the Drath go good in my current game. In my current game I've gone Neutral and most have gone that route as well. Drath are good and Drengin evil. However I have an alliance with both them as well as all Neutral races. Only ones I'm not allied with are the Yor and Krox (both evil). I about ready to start a war to wipe them both out. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Post your debug.err file if you want help here or email it to support.
3. Starbases. Yep, they will laugh at your 2 module influencer starbase. You'll need to back the modules on that baby. Economic starbases. If you want trade enhancer modules then build them along your trade routes. If you want production bonus then build them so as many of your planet as possible is in range. And of course they can do both. And the bonus from them can be huge. I had a corridor of 3 trade routes that went in the same
It takes 30 seconds to slap a couple guns, engines and defenses on a hull and get back to the game. You don't have to make them look pretty, just functional.
As for the configuration of my computer - its really none of your business what I have - the best I can say is that its an AMD FX 60 with Dual SLI - 7800 GTX's with the DX 9.0c and I have 2g of Corsair PC4400 C2. The rest is as sweet as apple pie Of course it's our business if you actually want help.
You also need to make sure you research up to the level of miniaturization you did in the first game. If not then the ship build you have may not be possible to make until you get to that level again.
while Xeno Banks are a requirement for missile boats. I guess the staff in the banks in fact design and produce the missiles. He was kidding about Xeno Banks.
Definately never build it. My planets are topped out in population as it is, so it's a useless wonder in my eyes. Even if I build a transport with 4 bil troops the population has almost grown by that much by the time the next transport is ready. Besides, in my games the AI usually builds it long before I even get the tech that unlocks it.
You must not know, but the Top X lists get updated once a day or so, probably in a nightly update of the server. So if you would have waited it would have been updated tomorrow morning most likely. If your scores don't sort themselves out by tomorrow then contact support and they can help you.
Research the logistics techs. Each one gives you +4 or so added to your logistics. Then you can make bigger fleets.
Apparently there is an "auto-liftoff" In the Frogboy's "Do you know you could do this" tread, it says you can right-click on the new ship icon that appears every turn on the right to have them liftoff Correct. The problem is that the icon doesn't always appear. Thus you don't even know it's bee
I have seen this as well many times actually. There will be no notification down the right side that ships were built. I *think* it only happens right after loading up a saved game. I'll have to try to spot a pattern.
or I am missing something We may have tracked it down to the need to research Sensors and Basic Support for most of these ships. Give that a try your next game.
