Oh my God, another category, I'll read up as soon as I manage!

Definitely cool!
Clear and readable. I usually try to trade the same techs to everyone, so they can't pass them on to a third party. It is also nice to see how you played and didn't rush around and stress yourself!
Too many expansions will lead to too any versions - making a decent strategy/tactics discussion impossible. Even now - someone like me who is hardware-bound to DL finds the different versions of DA confusing. I've bought TA - hoping that there will be a low end graph setting. But things will get ever more complicated in the forum if we have 5 or six versions around - and Player1 has addon A, B, and C, Player 2 has A,C and D and player 3 has B and E, and player4 has them all!<br/
Thank you for all the information!
2. If the map is big enough, a lone Mars is going to convert to your race anyway - no need to waste ressources (let the AI develop it for you...) 3. It used to be the most aggressive ship (high offense, low defense, low HP), but it may be different in Dark Avatar (DA) 4. Look out for red dots/symbols: they say - not my kind of atmosphere don't worry too much - you'll learn as you play
Send a PM to TP Scot (Firebender) or Neilo. You are lucky: We are just about to start another round in 1-2 days!
we are all humans Edit: except for the Drengin
What free tech? Everytime you get a new planet by normal conquest you get a free tech
Do you really want to see the race you played Wyndstar did a statistic on that somewhere in this forum (dunno where - he called it a tournament, I believe). Anyway, I love statistics so I'm interested PLUS it hurts no one. Still, I can't resist playing a civilization for its flavor (the Arceans are vanilla, I think)
Imagine a race with Super Annihilator and Good Alignment! It would be ridiculous The High Chaplain of Altaria stepped of the ship and began to sing. Once more, the galactic Love and Peace machine had worked its wonder. Drengin, who had thrown away their two-handed Pik-Lochs and their Laser Guns, were lying on the ground - gazing motionless at the pretty colours they saw. Some were holding each other by the hand and dancing around a Mallrow-rock. <br
*drums, rolling slowly* *thunder in a distance* *curtain opening slowly* *millions waiting - muted* *Sound of footsteps* *a man enters the stage* *he touches the microphone* *he gives a small cough* AND THE WINNER IS???
drrider - thank you for your thorough analysis (numbers are numbers are numbers).
I have failed you. Nonsense
Enlighten me. What are those 5 techs? You have taken the time to matematically figure the cost, benefit analysis of every possible combination for the first 5 techs for all races? With that dedication, you might as well help us get a cure for cancer or be the next Thomas Edison. The first 5 techs I took was Planetary Improvement, plus the first in economics, Universal Translator, Diplomacy and Trade - the first 2 because of the bonus, the other thr
I've just completed a very weird game. I played the humans with a good economy, good morale and some extra soldiering (I also had a few helpful morale tradegoods and the TirQuan). I was too slow conquering the Drengin, so by the time I had finished them, the Korx had conquered everyone else, except a few Yor. So they owned like 70% of the map - I had the rest - plus the three Yor planets. When they declared war on the Yor - I saw my only and last chance to attack the Korx. I adv
I hated this in MOO, because I never knew which civ could colonize which planet!
I'd definitely love to see this - we've been theorizing about it in English Literature classes at Heidelberg University: Write yourself into literary history, Frogboy!
I may face problems in the next round if I use DA - I get a BSOD 90% of the time (or more) I start a DA game. DL is still stable though: So I'm back to less asteroids, less planets, less bonuses - and less credits. sigh!
Total bonuses seem to be higher in DA, which makes DL a less specialised version - better suited for beginners.

If you feel older than teenage how about joinig the Gerontocrats. We are old, a bbit senile, but very incapable and friendly and so on
First of all - forgive my language - I couldn't resist the rhyme I've been thinking about leaving out buildings as I upgrade my science. It occurred to me that the Xeno-Lab is not much use Cost/turn Output Output/Credit Basic lab: 1 6 6 Xenolab 2 8 4 Research Center 2 10 5 So why not just building many basic labs and up
1. farms? Never buld more than 1 farm on a planet. Planets with too much food are overpopulated and unhappy. 2. 3 planets: good for a small or tiny map - otherwise: colonise as long as there is stuff to colonise 3. How happy are my people: there is an aproval percentage in lower left corner of the galaxy screen, an aproval rating in the statistics session of the planet screen and a written comment under details
Oh DO join the battle of all battles Talking about colony rush: On smaller maps, speed is less important at the bginning - you can just buy a colony rush for up to medium maps - on tiny maps you can even leave out the colony rush completely and go for a troup transport rush (just tried this out myself)- using all your funds on a research blitz). I can only recommend the League - it stimulates your curiosity and you don't have to be a big boy like Motti or Mumble to join - they
