I still haven't had any success with this, I don't even understand where the data is coming from. I edited the xml files with notepad, it says what I want it to say in xml in the race specific technology tree, their technologies aren't in the general technology tree. In game, it still says the old xml data, before I edited it. How is it even loading the old tech tree when I changed it and the old tech tree isn't saved anywhere.

Thank you, that was correct. Home planet quality isnt something you can access without modding, I did some testing and it looks like it only affects your original homeworld.
What is the difference between the tech brokering and tech trading options when you are creating a game? And if you have a home planet quality bonus, and your home planet is destroyed or conquered, will your new capital receive the bonus, or is it useless then?
Hi, I'm looking for some help with a mod I downloaded from the library, http://library.galciv2.com/index.aspx?m=844 the conglomerate of zod. I like the race, but the mod doesn't quite work. I have to load it up as a custom race, which I figured, but there is no description written for it, and it uses a minor race planet with the corresponding low quality (10) instead of a major race planet. It has a raceconfig file, so I figure the author meant for it to come with its own home star sy
Hooray! Thank you, that worked
How do I use mods in Twilight of the Arnor? I checked https://forums.galciv2.com/358717 but it was too technical for me and I didn't get anything out of it. I have the latest version of ToA and my game says the mods need to be in the folder D:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Mods\Default, I tried unzipping them there and checking use mods, but I wasn't able to use my mod :( Also, there is no mod folder in the twilight of the arnor folder I have, so I can't put it there.
I did contact THQ, they said they couldn't replace my CD key. I don't know how to find a cracked CD key, or how to boot from my old hard drive. I think I should be able to, my old hard drive is intact, is doing that complicated? And how do I find the keys and appdata to copy it?
Hi, recently I decided I wanted to play an old game, Titan Quest, but I lost the CD Key. However, my computer crashed after I bought it, and I got a new hard drive in addition to my old one. I don't remember why, but we reinstalled windows on the new hard drive and partitioned it. My old hard drive has the same windows and all of the files and games my new hard drive does up to the point were they were partitioned and I switched to using my new one. Until now, it has just sat there, I haven't
Yeah, thats what I was trying to do :P thanks
I tried editing the custom race in D:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Twilight\Data\English\RaceConfig.xml, but it doesn't show the race I made in there, it just says custom race with no points spent and the minor race tech tree which is not what I used.
I made a custom race, and named them Iconian Refuge, not very original I know :P But now, when I create a new game and select them as my race, they have the stats and super ability of the regular Iconian Refuge, which is not what I gave them, and when I click next, it makes me choose the regular Iconian Refuge as my race. How can I get rid of this custom race so that I can make new custom races if I can't select them? Edit: in the metaverse game, it does let me select the custom race,
I'm creating a custom race, and I'm wondering what the yor techs antivirus software and firewalls do? They have no bonuses, and are expensive to research so I was thinking I would just not get them.
I have to say the numbers and story in Galactic Civ have always bugged me too, I try to get into the game, and seeing unrealistic numbers, like billions of people on my transports, or story inconsistencies in the story of the game, is kinda jarring since the rest of the game works to be consistent.
I am playing TA 2.02, and I do have the orbital command center, only the planet that it is on will let me defend with my full fleets.
How come the AI's always get to defend their planets with their full fleets on all planets, but I can only defend my planets with one ship at a time if I have more than one, unless I have the orbital fleet manager?
Lame :o thanks for the clarification. Oh well, it's a great game, pretty frustrating bug but it's still fun to play.
Hi, I've been playing Gal Civ for a long time with no problems. Howver, just in the past couple days, with no change to my drivers or game or any other computer components, the ships in my ship design window have become bugged. The 'tops' of the ship are invisible, basically I can only see the back of the ship in the ship window, whatever is facing me is invisible except for the back. For example, on a colony module, I can't see the metal on the top, or the bubble in the middle, I only see th
Torians have always been the dominating faction for me at crippling (genius) difficulty, only random lucky surrenders to the dominion of korx by 3 races (korx wasn't even at war with them, although the torians were) halted the torians in my last game.
My problem is that I can't research the weapons tree and the economy tree at the same time fast enough at higher than crippling difficulties, either my ships are too weak, or my economy is too weak to produce ships fast enough. My basic question though, is does anyone else have the same problem with endgame? If I can survive long enough to fend off a war or two, my ships become such high level that I'm able to kill a fleet and go back to repair losing 0 ships everytime, theres no way for the
Hi, first of all I have to say I love this game, have been playing other games for awhile and came back to it the last month and its tons of fun. I only have one problem with it, and that is making it *hard*. I usually play on crippling difficulty, my strategy is to research economy/research/diplomatic upgrades until other civs start getting planetary invasion, then research some weapons and get some small size ships out. I often find I can destroy huge numbers of ships by rotating damages sh
Hi, I'm a longtime GalCiv Player, but I just recently have had problems accessing the library. I want to download some mods, but I can't load the page. My firefox says Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. and my Internet explorer says cannot load page, most likely causes this website requires you to log in. I am logged in to the website, I just recently downloaded firefox so I don't know if that changed anything, but I
