@mrlarone DVD SHRINK - from what I can tell, doesn't isolate certain files very well, only burns the whole image or larger parts. Also there is no mention anywhere of file support. It is freeware, though, so anyone looking to try it can have a go. I might try it as a last resort, but the documentation doesn't seem that cohesive, or I didn't look hard enough. DVD FLICK- looks good for burning them onto a DVD, but that is the exact opposite of what I'm looking for.

tl;dr Is there a DVD ripping software that allows for Widescreen rips with no loss in quality or resoltion? Long Version; Ever since getting digital cable with a DVR I've been thinking of putting my entire DVD collection onto a computer, hooking it up to my TV, and having all of my movies accessible with a few clicks instead of hunting through my rather large racks of mostly terrible b-movies that take a

I loved Total Annihilation, and really enjoyed SupCom as well. Demigod is fun, and I like playing, but it's not a long lasting game for me. I hope the SupCom 2 stays more to it's roots than the latter.
That sounds as annoying as people who spam new forum threads, good luck with it, but read well about any program before purchasing, and look for demos.
Also, could you post a bit about why you like Space Empires V? I've always been curious about it.
SE V is fairly similar to GC2, but not quite as pretty. The learning curve is there, and it'll take you a bit to get used to the control scheme and at time annoying menu system. Also, you really shoulddownload a few mods to get things really rolling (they have a balance mod and some AI updates that m
Thanks for the replies, I'll look into the games. Keep them coming though! Zone of Enders, the PS2 version, is only remotely related to Front Mission, but I enjoyed the Front Mission games ten fold more. The poor man's version I'm refering too is "Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars". To be fair, comparing any PS or PS2 game to a GBA game isn't fair, thus the derogatory description. edit: I dug it out of my GBA game collection, to make sure I rem
Hello, I'm not what you'd consider a hardcore gamer, but I enjoy quality games from every genre. From point and click adventures to twitch shooters, if it's an engaging game, I'll like it. However, I've been itching for a good turn based game lately. I'm getting tired of GalCiv and Space Empires V (if you love either of these games get the other, you'll love it too). Some of my favorite turn based games were the Front Mission releases. For those not aware
DRM costs per-disk.
This is why, and for no other reason. Any real fan will buy the game, or will buy it after testing it to make sure it's not tripe. Also, if my memory serves(which it usually doesn't) Spore was released(pirated) the day before Public release, with all of it's archaic DRM removed, so if they ramp up the DRM for this, they're just making more sound business decisions.
You can get older (but still fairly new) versions of modeling software for much, much cheaper. Also, if you're a student (college), you can aquire it for very low cost as well, if not free from your university.
@MrNiceGuy - No you're not in trouble, and delete it if you feel bad about having uncredited work on your HDD. Or keep it. No one cares very much or will ever do anything about it. Obviously this guy just took a bunch of different resources from many different mods and put them together in a big almagamation, without and proper credits whatsoever. All of that is painfully obvious. I think the only thing actually "stolen" is kyro's work. The rest is just unowned work tha

I had to do some serious modding to really enjoy Supcom, but it was indeed a wonderful game, even if it makes me reinstall Total Annihilation and it's mods too just for the nostalgia factor.
Obama won't be the massive change everyone expects. The power of the president is actually a lot less than many believe, including mr GWB, but imo, he was much more suited for our country than McCain was. We need a better economy and better foreign relations are what we need for the short term. Fiscal Conservatives have tanked our economy. Go figure.... And foreign relations, well, he wins that hands down for obvious reasons. For the long term, he'll let us keep the freedoms we have and we'll
I thoroughly enjoy terror stars. It's more of a vindictive, rp point of view though. I don't care about metaverse anything (or any other online achievement electronic-manhood enhancers for that matter). They're fun to me, so I don't care that I could be doing something "non retarded". They're inefficient in every way possible, but they're fun. The '68 stingray in my garage that I'm restoring is a horrible excuse for a car. It's fun, but that's all it's got compared to w
An EA game? That means I won't buy it. Actually, it just means that there's a 90% chance I won't buy it, and a 70% chance that the game was rushed, buggy, and/or utter triol. Invasive or arbitrarily restrictive DRM means I'll never buy it. I can see the thought process behind it all, but it boggles my mind when you punish your loyal customers while the pirates are playing a superior product. If it's just so amazing that I can't live without playing it [e digicons]:|[/e]
Useful, perhaps not, but when those damned thalans backstab you, fight you for years and years, and then all of a sudden want peace because you've destroyed every system they've ever had a planet on and their homeworld stands alone in the darkness... there is no mercy among the stars...
There's some truth and some horrible, horrible noob comments in here, but
Because after Halo, Mass Effect is just so predictable.)
made me laugh out loud.
Slight Spoilers... You see turian and asari ships in the end cutscene, and probably every other cutscene that shows the citadel. Perhaps the Destiny Ascension is the only Asari vessel, but I thought there were more. It's been awhile since I've played, excluding the 0/30 random item grinds, it was a lot of fun but didn't hold my attention for too long. You see the Turian ships near the end, Sovereign rams one of them I believe. The Turians are similar looking but still very diff
It'd be fun to see some of the ships in game. They look simple enough in game to not be a pain to model. Also, you see several Turian, Earth, Asari, and Geth ships in the cut scenes, so you have plenty of material to work with already.
meh, personally I'd like a mix of the two. Perhaps see your troops moving across the map and taking over the "flags". Although I do like the new screen to the old one. Both are just there to hold the skip button for me though. I have no need to watch the drawn out version of either battle.
I use them mostly for the same reason CoBBQ does. More for RP purposes I suppose. Also, if a race particularly made me mad one game, I will destroy it's empire piece by piece, until finally using a terror star to destroy their home world (via it's star). It's not just about winning the game, it's about being evil and cruel along the way. Heh. 8)
The new Nvidia cards are slightly, and I mean only slightly better, but cost almost 2x. And 2 ATI's > 1 Nvidia
They're making it for TA, it's "coming soon", if you had read a bit before posting. You have to register, I'd guess, because 1- The file is too large for the library here. 2- They want their own space to monitor feedback and other responses, while having control over spam and unneeded garbage posts. 3- Because they hate you. That's all a giant guess though, as it seems fairly common sense to me. Minus the hating you part. I hate most people, especially on the internet, so I'm a bit bia
This made me smile. Thanks OP. Personally, I'd hate playing this game on multiplayer. I'd be constantly yelled at for watching TV and not noticing it's my turn.
