You can use any mod together that you want as long as you know how to combine them. There are Star Wars, Babylon 5, Star Trek, and other various ship models out as well, if those suit you.

Well, I'll be happy with the memory leak addressed. I didn't think SD would leave me high and dry, as their customer support has been top notch, but blaming it all on the OS seems a bit strange. I understand all too well the limitations of certain software, and hardware, but the way this game can eat memory can be out of this world. I'm not on the forefront of the 32/64 bit information line, so I'll let you computer guys work it out and I'll just pay the difference for another good computer lat

I can get it by just hitting the End Turn button twelve times, and never doing anything at all. That's running the Hi-Res Mods and several other mods that add new ships, planets, etc. But the invasions/ship battles do have a horrible effect on the regular game as well, in my experiences.

Well, I agree that it'd be a shame to never release it, but their work is their work. The best made mods are never released. And, the memory leak problem gets very severe the more models you add. I only have the older version of the ST mod, but I've made several custom races. One for each of the Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, and some completely custom factions. Running those, and especially if running the Hi-Res mod, my game will last 12 turns (the 2nd autosave) before going to video

I thought that the pop display meant all "able bodied, ready to be used" population. Not ACTUAL (civi) population. Think of it as people in military or civil service. They can be put to any use, and will be if the situation arises. I think the max pop is 100m. For reference, Earth has 6 b , and growing. I'm not argueing that 100m is enough or too much, but that number, to me, clearly represents the military/civil/elite/trained population that can be used for government service at will.

My "games" desktop is still running on XP, and it's still getting the Out of Memory message. I won't buy the expansion until the issue is fixed. It makes my game nearly unplayable, when it ran so great beforehand. It's so frustrating to not have a solid answer. I'm glad it works for some people, and it works decently for me without any extra mods on, but something is wrong when Supreme Commander runs better on my comp than this game.

It looks nice.... but I'm still getting the Out of Memory bug ... Any news about an update on this error? It's made GC2 unplayable for me, and I'm not gonna spend more money on a game (that I love), until I can actually play it for more than a few turns.

I have all of the hulls working, but I didn't use the original set up. I split everything up to make new hulls for new races, and also made them jewelry pieces to be used for blank hulls. Good Luck getting yours to work. To AggieJohn, how's work coming on the other ships? I'm looking forward to them, but I'll admit slightly, less than the memory leak fix.

I've tried 1.61a and 1.61c but they don't help much. Even turning the rendering down, as well as the planet surface variety to 0%. I still get a crash. If I load up mods that add ships (such as Babylon 5, Star Wars, and Star Trek Races) my game will last about 12 turns before getting the memory message. I just check the forums every so often and wait for them to fix the problem. I love Stardock and up until this I was behind them 100%, but this game is nearly unplayable now so I'll wait for this

I'm still suffering from the problem sadly, so I'm looking forward to the next update. If I just play DA then it's not as big a problem, but if I use my preferred mods, DA will always crash. If I use my mashed up mod (the HD mod, New Weapon Effects, Misc New Planets, and Custom Races from SW, ST, and B5) My game might not make it to turn 25 before the Out of Memory occurs. Hello all, I've created several custom races with custom ship templates, and I've mostly got them all working how I want them. Currently, I'm having trouble getting each individual custom race to have a custom star system, and individual tech trees. I (believe) I know how, in theory at least. If I just use one custom race it works correctly, and if I override a main race, then I can get everything to work how I'd like, but I want to leave the original races intact if possible, as well

If a planet with all factories is set to all research, couldn't those factories (in theory) be producing research goods, thus improving the race's research ability? Hello, I've been slowly making my own custom races for DA for awhile. I wanted B5 races along with ST races (and now SW races) to battle each other in a sci-fi mash up world, so I just went out of my way and made individual races for most of them, and the rest are coming along as I have the patience for them. There's nothing wrong with Steam as far I as I can tell, but any program that restarts itself on the windows startup(with no way to turn it off, at least I couldn't turn the automatic startup off), and wants unchecked internet access, is annoying. I ended up uninstalling it and HF2 just because it was too intrusive for me. If I want steam to be active, I'll run it. Otherwise, I don't want an automatic program or a box telling me to sign in every time I boot up my comp.

you could, in theory, create several unarmed tiny ships with little or no add ons, and place them as a wall of sorts. I've thought about doing it, but I'm far to lazy. Other races' ships can't cross that line (without declaring war) of course.
