Are you from another planet that is made out of lead? I can't decide to feel sorry in general that the world produces such idiotic self absorbed people or to feel sorry for you in particular for whatever reason causes you to blatantly act like you do on these forums. I do feel the most sorry for those you treat like that in RL who put up with it. I'm glad that you're a master beta tester, you obviously know more than everyone else here, so why

I am working on it for you Kodiak. Excellent. Thank you very much again for your contributions.

Hahaha, I won't post the obvious jokes about trolling, or the fact that every game made now has it's own download manager, or a variation of one that may or may not be incorporated into the game's gui but is still taking up more hard drive space regardless, or the fact that I have an install manager from Blizzard themselves (gasp)... But I will say that updating GalCiv is ridiculously easy for me, and should be for most. If you're registered, just open stardock central and it'll tell y

Hello, As long as you're taking requests, I wouldn't mind a human-ish military space marine type of race set. Something along the lines of WH40k, Aliens, Starcraft, or any other sci-fi space marine type of thing, as far as inspiration goes. That might border a little close to infringement for you, but I thought I'd ask as it's at least a common idea that multiple copyrights share from. I don't have anything specific in mind, but all of the human sets seem like politicians, but sometime

Halo Wars is an RTS that takes place on the ground though, and I think it's centered mostly around combat, with very little diplomacy and trading to be found GalCiv isn't that kind of game. You can play it that way, but it's still apples and oranges. You could mod a little green soldier in the currently awesome ground war effects if you wanted to though. That'd be worth a laugh. Don't get me wro

I found a great Saratoga and Hammerhead model. (as well as many other ships)for the game X3: reunion. I know that it's not anywhere near as simple as a direct port over, but at the very least if you're still looking for inspiration, you could ask the author for the original files so you can build from them. Warning - this isn't a slow internet friendly site WWW Link for the ship pics page <a href="http://www.xpluginmanager.co.

hhmmm, I've got the side view, and parts of the hull (including a section of the top down, but I can't seem to find any of the others. It's more than enough to go on, or at least do a good job that no sane person would complain about. You'd have to take a little artistic liscense though. If you want it, let me know where to send the pics (I can post them on imageshack if you want, but it'd be better quality to e-mail them. The pics even have scale reference to the ISSCV and Hammerhead i

I didn't mean for you to do the race, I'd do that with jewelry parts and my own imagination. I was just wondering if you were planning on making some of the other ships. I've got some good diagrams of the Hammerhead and a Chig fighter that would be fairly easy to create models from. I know I've got the blueprints for the Saratoga (carrier) somewhere too, if you'd want them. It's not a big deal, just wondering if you had any more ideas from that particular universe.

The graphics aren't the best, but you don't play an RTS for the graphics. I still play starcraft over lan sometimes. It's still one of the funnest games around. Although I hate Blizzard for making MMORPG games popular and bulldozing the way for everyone else to charge for online games (and costly download able content..::shivers: I know that that was an inevitable evil that would eventually consume us all

Haha, I like it when people act like they're awesome but look foolish. I love this mod, I can run it fine on my rig, which outclasses someone else's that politely listed their "specs" here..... and on my laptop with vista. Obviously performance isn't as good on the laptop, but it still runs great. Wonderful job guys. Keep up the work. And for the record, I also have a freakin huge hard drive. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 align="absmiddle"

I'd like to add that this mod is actually very well executed. It may not be perfect, but few(see: I haven't seen one yet) games that you actually BUY don't have flaws. I'm sure my rig isn't as powerful as yours, but it is good enough to max out TES:Oblivion with total 2048 & 4096 replacement textures (okay, i'm bragging a little), so it's nothing to scoff at, I don't have any memory leak from this mod, not counting the regular memory leak from GC2, which isn't that significant unless I'm up all

The downloads are downloading properly, and not ending prematurely. They just have corrupted files when I scan and try to extract them. I'll post my bug (or personal problem) on the ST forum. I believe I registered awhile ago, so I should still have an account.

Hmm, it seems that no matter how many times I download the mod, some files in each section are corrupt. Thank the heavens for my highspeed internet, as I downloaded each section of the DA mod 5 or 6 times each, and the only "clean" download I recieved was from part 1. The corrupted files (I believe) are the same each time as well. I'm using 7z to unzip them, and have never had any previous problems with that program (it works fantastically for everything I've ever used it for.)I c

Actually if it's a DA MOD shouldn't it be in GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods? that's where my DA mod is and it works just fine (and I use a bunch of stuff I stole from you...cough....cough)?

Hello, I searched the forum and found a few (older) threads that have talked about this, but I didn't see anything that had an answer, so I'm sorry if I'm reviving a dead horse. Now, about carriers ... just kidding. Roughly 1/3 of the time that I save a new ship, either made from scratch, upgrading one that I have saved as a ship design, or upgrading one from a template design, the game creates a template design of the new ship, even though the create template box(or whatever the exact

Actually, Rainbow six is accurate (well, liberally.) Most world military powers still don't allow females in special warfare units. Most gamers are men, and sadly most of those men aren't socially adept, and all men are horny (don't lie), so all that means most games are made for guys, and most girls in games will be objectified. While most of the violence is cartoonish in nature, games that allow unbridled violence of men beating women attract more protester's than just the usual misled crusade

There is an "English" folder in the original files in the "Data" folder. At least there is on mine.(and it's default). But I'll try just putting it inside the data folder again and see if that works.

I've read the modding guide and it is very useful (I can't wait for it to be updated either!), but It doesn't answer my question. From how I've understood it, I could just create a new GC2Types.xml file and put it in mods, select that mod, and it'll work. But with DA, it changes the folder directories in the selected mods folders. It doesn't change anything actually, but it adds empty dummy folders like the "Gfx" and "Sfx" (the previously unused folders). But in the Mod's "Data" folder, the stru

Hey guys. I was wondering if there was a guide anywhere that could help me understand how to use the Mod Folder for Dark Avatar. If I want to say, add a ship component, how would I go about doing that? I tried numerous times to add a Fake Spore Pod jewelry piece (as a test) using the Mod folder but was unsuccessful with each attempt. I can get it to show up if I alter the original XML file, (yes I made a backup), but I'd prefer to know how I can leave the original intact, and just alter things

I was wondering if anyone here could help me locate a certain file. If possible, I'd like to edit the event(code) that forces you to pick an alignment. I always push off researching Xeno Ethics because I enjoy the random events, so I'd like to change which technology triggers it. I know that it sets back my special alignment bonuses but I can circumvent all of that. I'm not doing a total mod for the game, but I've been changing many of the textures, weapons, etc around to make the game more chal
