I really don't like the new forums everything seems cluttered and small. I own a 19inch wide screen and as like others i have 3" of black screen on each side with the forum kinda cramed in the middle. I guess what im trying to say is, if it aint broke dont fix it (:(
Grrr. I bought the complete pack, the $55 option which included DA expansion, and the prelease beta for the TA expansion, and I have to wait 14hours, if it keeps at it's current pace, just to finish installing GC2 on its own, bah! When I buy a game I want to be able to play it sraight away, or as close to that as possible, but I have played it before so I know the wait will be worth it, sorry, just ranting, ignore me
if u want it right away bye it at a store, I recently
+ TWEAK: Ship Maintenance now excludes freighters and is lowered by 1%.
I'm glad that you guys noticed the Ship Maintenance/Economic in balance, but 1%??? this won't really any affect until your ship maintenance is over 100bc per ship which will result in a whole 1 bc discount, if you ask me it needs to be more like 10%, paying 99 or 100 bc per turn is negligible. Why have all these new components if their too expensive to use?
Yeah, your going to hell... but i like to use influence starbases on my friends, that helps me sleep at night. :CONGRAT:
I had a sony viao with the same integrated 340m igp chip, the Omega drivers are definately the best for that chip, you may also want to upgrade your ram to 1 to 2gb's if possible i ran on 512 until upgrading the laptop to 2gb's, there was a huge difference in load times and game play... and one thing i don't miss about that thing was burnt legs, man those old laptops run freakin' hot!!!
I agree ship maintaince is way out of control, This game is becoming not fun anymore. Whats the point of all the new components if you can't use them without bankrupting yourself.
when you go below -500bc, automatically the computer shifts your entire economy toward getting you out of debt,(thus all projects and research will say never, or a ridiculous amount of time).
Am I the only one who's having the game crash (no apparent memory issues, about a dozen turns after my first newly designed ships roll off the line)? This has happened to me with the Altarians and twice with the Thalans. Saving and reloading sometimes puts this off a couple turns, but it still happens. Basically, the game has been unplayable for me since the patch.
I'm also having random crashes/whole system resets, I played for 3 hours last night no problems,
I play as the terrans, and i'm glad to say my economy has somewhat stablized, setting the slider between 85-95% to stay in the black, but still i control 3 economic resources maxed out, i should be rolling the credits! i control 20 planets none lower than class 9 and unfortunatly none over class 12 my pop is 120bil with 3 trade routes easily going halfway acrossed the map which net me a measly 80bc a week.
also my tax slider is @59%
I've been trying to play TA on Gigantic and immense galaxies, but economies for these sized galaxies has been extremely nerfed, i find it impossible to have a stable economy, even with a total of 130% economic bounuses(racial abilities and resources) im still deep in the red, i've never had this problem in DA (i'm usually in the black by this point by a few hundred credits per turn). smaller maps aren't as bad but they have still been nerfed and it takes alot more time to get your economy up.
I'd only had the thing for 9 years. If it worked for 9 years, why not 9 more?
wow 9 years? not only is your pc ancient(in pc years, uh kinda like dog years), but if you got nine years out of a system you should be pretty happy, but its time to upgrade. base systems that will probably run circles around your current pc, go for as little as $300, or build your own at newegg for a fraction of the retail price.
class 57!!! precursor artifact?

I've also noticed this in all of the TA betas so far, after a recent game CTD i was going through my debug and a couple lines i've never seen before check this out: WARNING: CompleteResearchOnTech could not complete tech 51 because it was not found in the tech tree of the Iconian Refuge Debug Message: Year: 2229. Torian Confederation traded Xeno Farm Construction III to the Iconian Refuge in exchange for Advanced Barren World Colonization Debug Message: WARNING: C
colonizing new planets is expensive... build more economic structures on your early planets it will pay off when your planets starts to develop, if you don't spend your intial cash right away you can run in the red for awhile to help your population grow, but you'll have to adjust the slider soon or later to keep from bankruptcy, then you have to live off small profits while continually bumping up your slider as time goes on...
The game ends when it ends. There's no time limit, so yes you can play until you win. I mean with no victories. For example, if I whip everyone else on the galaxy and win by conquest, can I do what I do in Civ: "Wait! Just... one... more... turn... !" ?
its hard to compare civ4 to galciv2 on this because civ4 has a turn limit(that can be altered somewhat), but I usually play gigantic galaxies with abundant everything and 9 opponents and i've had these g
However, as you build up your worlds, you'll get to see your sprawling cities in full glory (and get to see them burn to the ground if you're not prepared).
one question will we be able to view this without the invasion process, like in the planet information screen?
some races seem to be able to research techs out of order in a recent game as the terrans(who can research warp bubbles III without I&II), the korath were able to get Disrupters and Enhanced Tri-strontium without the preceding techs; the Arceans had Force Fields and Advanced Battlestations without the preceding techs; and the Drengin had Warp drive IV without the preceding techs. this was with in the first year of the game(large, common habitable abundant everything else, normal research rate, n
they need to tune down ship maintance then... cause its killing me i have 3 economic anomilies @ 34%, tax @ 49% with 200b and i'm still in the red!
did the tourism bonus change in the last beta, it doesn't seem as powerful as it was in the first beta.
So in the terran tech tree there is a new beam weapon string- Particle Beams or something similar. my question is will there be new components tied to these techs? if so when will this be put in to the beta. Will plasma weapons be made more powerful? any info would be appreciated.
or you can just buy a radio.
go to the downloads page, and Download it. the program will ask you for your email address and password, the one used when you bought the game, (if you already registered) then it will auto update the game for you, or reinstall it if you need to.
If you've registered stardock can still email you your serial #, then download stardock central and you will never have to worry again.
