I actually think Fox News is quite balanced in their reporting. O'Reilly and Hannity and Combs are fine shows, but their not passed off as news...rather news commentary. Yeah, balanced if your a right-winged religous zealot. Fox news serves Cheney & Bush, they don't have a mind of their own.

update the game to 1.6, that may help...the many 1.5 versions were really buggy and crash prone... also you may look for an update sound driver.
go to my documents, galciv folder and delete the race config files... all of them, that will get rid of any custom races and return you to the orginal races ps their not hiding things, lots of games use your documents folder to store game data, like saves.
i have never used the governors, i do all of those tasks manually, which gets pretty tedious at year 3 of a gigantic map!
If your enemy is with in your sensor range(ie ship, planet, or starbase) you will see their moves. the best way to keep track of your enemy is the "Eyes of the Universe", buildable after you've researched sensors IV, with the "Eyes" you don't have to waste space on your ship with sensors all starbases and ships get maxed out sensors.
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Thats a good one! I'm not sure about many network news, most are really bias *cough*Fox news*cough*, I watch mostly cnn, although they seem to swing quite far to left sometimes.
you can create your own hulls from scratch or use premade templates, its important to make your own designs with the weaponns and defensive technologies you have aquired. the premade designs won't incorperate your latest technologies you must do it yourself.
Has it occurred to you that Frogboy gets hundreds of PMs, and maybe he hasn't gotten around to reading yours? He's the CEO of Stardock, and a busy guy. And yes, yesterday was a national holiday in the USA. People don't work on Memorial Day here, deal with it. Do me a favor, avmf8. This Christmas try e-mailing Bill Gates to get tech support from him. Get back to me when he replies. In all serious, if you need help make a post in the Bug Reports fo
You can only can the names, every thing else is in the game coded to change it would violate the EULA.
there seems to be a new "delay" i've noticed in the 1.6b3, i have not downlaodef 1.6b4 because of graphic issues others where having...this "delay" seems to occur after i select a ship i have to wait almost 10sec before i'm able to deliver orders, also i went from the last 1.59 update straight to b3, there WAS supposed to be an improvement in frame rates but i've actually seen my frame rates get worse...i would have never downloaded the beta if 1.59 wasn't so crash prone now that problem seems t
(on the other hand, if in GalCiv you could zoom into an asteroid field down to seeing an individual man on the asteroid field and instruct him to check out a small glowing object not far from him in order to trigger a new optional event that might be a different thing all together). ohhh....that would be very, very, sweet !!!!!!!!!!! maybe have a special release with the whole graphics engine...Dark Avatar S.H.O. and i dont know how to install my sound card and also like 2 months ago my entire system crashed i had to reinstall everything and it was so bad i had to call a computer fixer First thing you need to do is get a book and read about your computer... even with basic knowledge installing things like sound cards, video cards, ram, drives is all really simple, and it will help you answer alot of questions on your own. as far as your video card goes you need
dandan, is your video card direct x10 compatible? as far as i knew the Nvidia 8 series are the only directx 10 compatible cards. also it might help to go into your bios and change your VMI from 64mb to 128 or 256mbs if its possible.
the only time i've seen anything similar, is if i'm lacking the tech to colonize the planet, i can still invade it but i wont get any production unless i get the colonizing tech.
Focus your production on planets, ie have them specialize much possible... by doing this you only need a few planets "focused" on research and the rest to military, with economic production. keep planets pops below 12 billion so you don't have to build morale structures. i build 2-3 factories on planets focused to research, and 4-5 factories on planets focused to economic, only time i will place several different types of structures is if the planets has many different pre-cursor artifacts.
Then again these are pretty speccy crashes, or there's something wrong with my computer it crashes so badly it automatically restarts the comp half the time.....maybe That almost sounds like a hardware issue, check your device manager for conflicts, and maybe test your ram.
Agreed the spy system is too simple, plus its now a pain to get full espoinage on all the civ's, playing agianst 9 AIs i will get 3 to 4 AIs full espoinage by the time the game ends on a gigantic map.
this isn't the correct de-bug, this debug says you terminated the game normally.
As mystikmind said understanding your motherboard is key, stating that your motherboard is of the biggest type doesn't say much, as there are many different sizes, chipsets, bios. measuring your motherboard in inches or millimeters will tell what size tower you will need (ie ATX, BTX, microATX, microBTX) you can find a guide at wikipedia to reference your size. Its also important to find out the exact maker and model of your motherboard this will let you know what chipset it has as well as its
One question: as the Thalans fell and you lost trade revenues, I noticed your income was -236bc, but you were also maxing out your espionage at 1108bc, why not lower your spending to gain revenue for a military build up?
Nvidia also has the only Directx10 compatible cards at this point also,(8 series GPUS).
of course its slow with dumb threads like this wasting space.
Use Omegadrivers.net their drivers kick ass!
My computer might be what you call "high end". no your computer is "low" end. just to give you an idea my system is Mid-range: System Info Time: 4/18/2007, 14:33:29 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: MAINCOMPUTER Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) Languages: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gatew
Increase your Ram and get a new video card, plus the drivers on your current hardware is way out of date.
