hmm, maybe it ran out of names to use? I'm sure there are hundreds of star names to use but its possible. although personally I'd like to see some real star names like Vega, Deneb, Altair, Bellatrix, etc instead of some of the names such as Florin, Wardell, Gladstone, and Iversonia because well, I just don't feel like they are sci fi or origional enough. Some are kinda origional like Kwilas, or Cordelia (VERY similar to Corellia).

I guess its an ok mod for grammar 'freaks' like you or others that are annoyed by the grammar, but I don't mind too much, unless its so rampant that its difficult to read. IMO it'd probably be easier to submit the grammar errors to Stardock and I'm sure they will gladly fix them for the next patch.
not even in the demo. and thats pretty wierd, must be a fluke of coding or something.
yea, the scouts are doing that even in the demo, its wierd and annoying. although I'm just making two scouts and on the small map only available to me, one scout is enough anyway as the survey ship later gets set to auto explore. and it has to be a bug related to the pathing. at least the survey ship you get at the start doesn't clump up with the scouts when you set it on auto explore.
maybe you just kind of maxed out the research capacity? I don't have the game yet and I only have the demo, so I honestly have no idea.
you mean patch not expansion pack. and the game has only been out since what, February. kind of early for an expansion pack. well he asked "when" my expansion packs are already being created after 1 month of release. The developer make the real money on expansion since the engine is already created, most the code is written, and it already has a lot of publ
when will the expansion pack be coming out and will it include scenario and map makers like in Altarian Prophecy? you mean patch not expansion pack. and the game has only been out since what, February. kind of early for an expansion pack.
yea well I'm using IE and I'm having the problem where the forum only updates the newest posts every half hour or so, which is what it seems programmed to do and is really annoying.
so pretty much those tips were for the full game when you are playing one of the races with a more advanced start than the Terrans which is the only one I can play in the demo?
Nevertheless, this game is about having fun and most of its fun comes out of my own imagination for me, so I like to play various custom races with changing abilitys, ship designs, colours and most important with various background stories out of my fantasy ... true, very true! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.g
perhaps it will be released on June 2nd or so and be a cool B-Day present with the game! not really though, LOL.
that'd be way cool! I'd like to see my idea for a custom race in action as an AI just to see how it would behave although, no idea about setting the specifics for the AI if it plays a custom race.
well, theres a best AI race thread, so why not a best player race thread. like which ones do you like to play, have the best stats, etc. you can also include your custom race if you like, but I'm just wondering mainly about the races that are already in the game
/bump I'd like some clarification here please?
well, for the same reason we sometimes have trouble identifying animals without unique indetifying features we can easily use (such as tail spots on whales, etc, but even then thats what scientists use) and we have our own subtle identifying features, aliens would have identifying features of thuer own that they can easily observe but we can't observe very well. That and the designers can't really make thousands of different individual pics for the same species.
not in the demo, you can only play as the Terrans in the demo. but in the full game, I know you can do whatever race you want, even make custom races not sure about the stats thing though.
also, the forums don't update the threads when someone has recently posted in them say like 5 minutes ago and its still not up near the top of the board and instead it takes like a half hour or more sometimes for it to update those threads. every forum I've been to puts the newest posts at the top of the board immediately, while there is an annoying delay here of well, a long time....
/bump cmon!, dang forum isn't updating properly
Oh, here's the best early shipbuilding tip -- on turn one, after moving your colony ship, upgrade it to the new 3-speed one you designed. It costs about 50 bc and is ready the next week. A player can design buy a 4-move
cool! which victory did you get?
what about the Terrans as an AI? sounds like alot of you guys are playing as the Terrans often times.
great, the forum wierded out on me when I posted and had to back up and now I can't edit my origional post I meant that the diplomacy part of GalCivII is better than the diplomacy part of the AI in Civ4 edit: OOPS! I see my double post up there, no idea how that happened, I was posting and then it gave me an error and I backed up, and dunno...
the diplomacy part of the AI is better in GalcivII (in the demo at least, I'm sure its revamped in the main game through patches, etc) and I find that its more interactive and somewhat more feedback.

/bump anybody know about this stuff? I'm just curious.
