hello! without constructors you wouldn't be able to use the mining resources and each type of starbase is essential to how the game works. I can't believe someone would be such a noob to think this

I'm not sure about the music question, but I can help you with the trade one. While distance does figure into it, it also figures into the relation of the PQ and population of the planet the route starts from and the destination planets PQ and population. So if you have a planet thats further away, but is a lower quality and lower population than one thats closer but has a high population and PQ, you will get more money from the closer one because of the higher PQ and population. thats part of the price of bieng in debt. Just find some way to adjust the balance so that you are out of debt, selling old techs to other races for cash can help you get out of debt.

you mean United Planets though, not UN. The vote things are entirely random and you can't submit anything to vote for. Sometimes an item will come up again for revote, but its random. And leaving the UP means that you can ignore the UP laws, but at a price, you can't make trade routes with anybody, which is bad for your economy if you don't have the capacity to make up for it. And once you leave the UP, you can't come back in.

they will probably be renamed, but space truck sounds like something rugged

well for one, the Demo is pretty outdated while there have been several patches to the game already and the demo lacks stuff thats in the main game.

try doing a search through your whole computer. Assuming you have Windows XP, go to My computer, click on the search button at the top, click all files and folders, type .ini in the 'All or part of the file name:' box, make the 'look in:' selection My Computer or probably my documents but you can try both, and click search.

seems very wierd since I've never been able to get the AI to sell me any planets and the AI wouldn't allow ALL of its planets to be sold unless it was braindead or something. has to be some kind of bug.

yea I wish it would work the way it says it's suppoused to, although that might actually be too powerful because even though you'd still have to do the work of placing influence starbases, it would cause a wave of planetflipping to go through like wildfire.

doesn't look like its anything else other than that, but the thing is that the latest full patch which is 1.2 will have many fixes including various crash fixes and so the best thing to do is to see whether just doing the patch fixes it and then seeing if its your system.

I don't remember a video which shows a ship going over an ocean either. And that minor race stealing tech event just shows a small ship approaching a planet.

yea the list on both sides of the diplomacy window is a little sensitive to clicking too fast or holding the mouse button down for a few seconds. So you might either have a mouse thats a little sensitive or you're clicking a bit fast. It's happened to me before, so its really just what you are doing with the mouse than a bug.

there is a random event that either makes all planets in a system habitable or all planets in a certain sector radius habitable by a certain PQ amount and the UP vote where a planet has become newly habitable. HOWEVER, what you are talking about here is the same idea of the new planet habitatibility system coming in Dark Avatar. It probably won't be as complicated as the part about water on acidic planets, but there are suppoused to be types such as Heavy (more than 1 G, which is Earth

@ Hopeless Newb and Veers, the OP was talking about that random event where a civilization has discovered some precursor tech which slowly makes them more powerful, there is a similar one where they discover some device called a Tacharik or something (I forget the name) which was used long ago by that demi-god bieng with the Dread lords or something and it has the same kind of effect. I've never had it happen to me and it really only seems to happen to the weakest or one of the weakest

the disable tech trading is one of the game setup options when starting a new game. It's in the first part after you click new game.

anyone knows maybe what's the meanwhile of the ship that travel on the ocean? huh? that question makes little sense.

once it also happened to a race I was about to destroy. In a game a while ago, I was destroying the Terrans (I think it was the terrans that got the event in that game), they were down to a few planets and my invasion fleet was already on its way when they had the event, but a few turns later they were dead. I guess it was one final desperate attempt at survival, but much too late.

well the change allows for more efficient use of space, although the basics of ship design haven't changed, you could be able to put a couple more pieces on than before. I don't know about the specific numbers, but it feels like now I can actually put more weapons on and have a good amount of ship defense while having good range and speed.

I can keep morale above 50% at 80% taxes on a 95-billion-person "hive world" using 9+ VR centers, depending on racial bonuses. Such planets have their uses. almost 100 billion? shit thats one freaking crowded planet, make that a 30 something class planet, completely urbanize it and you'll have Coruscant.

In every game I've had with the Snathi, they are always picking fights and are usually the ones starting the war.

wow, sounds like the mini-soldiers (which are suppoused to be nano-machines) somehow did some kind of terraforming action. also was the other race a neutral alignment race (having researched xeno ethics)? It could happen that way. maybe post a debug, it could show what was going on.

I don't see the point in building a sensor ship just research the Sensor techs and build the "Eyes of the Universe" which gives all your ships/bases the max sensor range of 15 parsecs. oh I didn't know that, or rather didn't notice it because by the time I get it, I usually have scout hulls with 15 sensor range. and even though the 'Eye

yea, I don't make very many specialized ships myself other than the usual colonizers, constructors, frieghters, and scouts. The Pirate Killer ships are one of the few and the cruise ship one I mentioned is just a variation of the normal colonizers since they still ferry people, just don't actually colonize and can be reused. The cruise ships could actually be thought of as civillian owned (or corporation owned, or whatever) ships.
