Changing your video options

I recently changed my video options to help speed up the game, Unfortunatly after I restarted the game like it sugested, I can not interact with the title page, I can not select anything at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to work, Please some on help.

Delete the file prefs.ini in My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2. That will reset all of your settings to the defaults.

I looked for that file but I could not find it, can you be more spasific?

Not really, that's exactly where it should be. Unless you're running a non-english Windows anyway, in which case it'll be in your langauge's equivalent of those folders.

You could always do a search for prefs.ini and pick the one in the GalCiv2 folder.

I did but thers no prefs.ini files, And I am running a english version of windows

try doing a search through your whole computer. Assuming you have Windows XP, go to My computer, click on the search button at the top, click all files and folders, type .ini in the 'All or part of the file name:' box, make the 'look in:' selection My Computer or probably my documents but you can try both, and click search.

Ok a walkthrough for you

Click 'Start'
Find 'My Documents'
Click it
Look for 'My Games'
Double click it
Look for 'Galciv 2'
Double click it
Look for 'Prefs' (description is; Initialization file)
Right click it
Move cursor to 'delete'
Click it
Select 'yes'
