Is There A Way To Disable Starbases/constucters?

They just get in the way, and cause my game to run slower!

The games would still be balanced also!

hello! without constructors you wouldn't be able to use the mining resources and each type of starbase is essential to how the game works.

I can't believe someone would be such a noob to think this

Also, depending on what size galaxy you play, you'll eventually need them to increase your range.  If you post your system info from your debug.err file (located in the same directory as your galciv2.exe), I can give you suggestions on which options you should set to increase your performance.

i have just this very second done it!!

i have disabled resources, constructers also starbases as the constructer module was still available for my ships. I put into account range, and economy so have added anomilies(spelling not sure!) and have tweaked the raceconfig file to give a trade and range boost to all races making sure there is a fine balance!

And CariElf thanks for the offer but i am soon getting an alienware pc, so that should increase my gaming performance on a whole (i hope!)

and smjjames i am not a noob to this game!

ok, I apologize for the noob comment.

Still, you won't be able to use this modded version for metaverse games, although if you don't play metaverse, then no prob.

Also there are probably various parts of the AI that you can't modify that are connected to the starbases, so you might see strange behavior even with the added range and trade bonuses because on huge and gigantic maps, there are limits to how far you can go even without starbases.
