question... the beta downloaded automatically to my computer from SD, but im the middle of a meta game. will the beta affect my ability to post my score?? iv had trouble posting scores in the past, this is why im asking.

any hint on what day it will be released?
honestly most of the commotion about espienage IMO could be solved by impimenting the already suggested "out comes" of trying to nullify a spy. it is such an excelent idea. right now the spy game is a waist of time, money, and energy. its a nice little curiosity in concept but thats about it. by adding these ideas it would give some depth to the spying game. Yes it would still be a pain and expensive and needs a masive overhaul... but that just means i get to look forwerd a better setup in
no... because one maxed farm on a non bonus tile gives you just about the perfect amount of pop to go with one maxed moral building. just be carful when you use the bonus tiles... make sure you have a specific goal in mind (aka: breeder world), and that you understand the moral penalty associated with high populations...
now if i could only get my girlfriend to enjoy this game as much as i do... maybe that would cure alot of problems
The food bonus tiles. They are damn near pointless. It can be somewhat useful to have a +100% one on a PQ 15+, but the +300% ones are simply unuseable. Ultimately the game seems designed such that increasing population on a planet with > 15 bil on it is self defeating. Therefore having a farm tile that can allow a pop of like 30 (I dunno, just guessing) is no good, as you would never want that many people on a planet. The same goes for the +100% ones
Engin changes: hull size change -------+------------ tiny 40% small 60% medium 100% cargo 110% (?) large 130% huge 160% EXCELENT idea. right now i almost NEVER build tiny or small ships, yet the AI seems to be head over heals inlove with them. i play on tough or cripling and the AI seems to constantly waist time with these little ships. adding this feature wou
so clarification... i now understand how the guard option works. your ship really does "stay put" till another ship comes into range, then it wants an order of what to do with the senser info... i can live with this, infact maybe even grow to like it. however what about the sentry? the name implyed somthing along the lines of a patrole. i assumed it was a patrol that would stop and ask for orders similar to guard every time it saw something... but i cant get it to go back and forth. What ex
... i know for sure that i started it with the metaverse option... idk whats the mater
am i just missing somthing? i know ive read breefly about people using the guard and sentry opptions but ive never been able to get them to work... am i just not clicking the buttons right... if some one out there uses these options please let me know what to do, cause its reallly annoying to have to deal with the same ship every turn needing a "stay put" order... and on the same kinda note, ive also never gotten the "exit planet here" button to work. i click on it, click on the square
i agree with the more pirats thing. the idea of "smuglers" "blackmarketers" has been brought up befor. but i really like it. i think there should be a minor race call the ... "somthingcool order" that would not have a home planet, but rather a series of modified starbases that would have ship building abilities. that way they could always be moving and building new starbases as old ones are found and eliminated by any civ looking to iradicate them. they would buy and sell techs and weapons
when i start i slide my spending to 100% right away. i try not to rush ANYTHING if i can help it... maybe a factory if i really need it but for the price of a factory i could play several extra turns at 100%. doing this i can pump out colony ships about ever 3 turns once i get my factories built, wich doesnt take long at 100%. AND YES i do build 1 or maybe 2 scouts first. basically i can build a scout in 6-7 turns while its still like 20 for a colonyship. so while im waiting for my fa
basically, yes it would be. as much as i am for both manu and research SBs. i kinda like the idea of making them tied specificially to gas giants and low grav planets. im just tired of seeing all these circles on my zoomed out map that just clutter up the place and do nuthing. and id rather use them then make the circles disapear. but, as for the semi-habitable moons around gas giants... im an astrophysics major, and gas giants actually have a huge magnetic field. thus the radiation
for the gas giants i was thinking more of an orbital facility then a "floating" base. i would basically just like to see all these useless objects in the game be used for somthing.... anything... it would give the game some more depth. some might call it useless clutter, but i like the idea.
i think either planets should get an automatic and substancial boost to their sensor range with each progresive sensor tech, or have a "sensor aray" you could build in orbit. this would not take up any ground space but would require a spacedock. this same trian of thought could be used to build orbital batteris or huge orbital deffense network for deffending your planets... at the very least you could add some sensor radius to the fleet manager so that its alittle more useful... maybe then the
i really like this train of thought. another thing if thought about is astroids being able to beem their points to an econ starbase that would then be able to send the MPs much farther away for much less loss then the minner would be able to do itself. however i do not think an asteroid should be able to supply a SB in the way we are talking about a planet doing. if both were to accure it would only make sense that the MPs would have to be beemed from the asteroid to the econ SB to the planet
i also think we should be able to use those uninhabitable planets for something other then nice little circles on my zoomed out map. i think a habitable planet in a system with other solid uninhabitable planets should be able to set up some sort of base for extra manu points and for other gas giant and/or ringed planets youd get research points. i know we already do this for rings and moons around the colonized planet but there is no added bonus for being in a 5 planet system vs a 1 planet sys
i deffinitly like the idea of being able to use those uninhabitable planets for something other then nice little circles on my zoomed out map. i think a habitable planet in a system with other solid uninhabitable planets should be able to set up some sort of base for extra manu points and for gas giants/ringed planets youd get research points.
I really like the idea of supply lines for starbases. it would deffinitly eliminate the hassel of dealing with constructors. however for those worried about not being able to blow up incomming constructors to enemy starbases, id say maybe make it like a trade rute were you could kill the little transports that are constantly running back and forth. for every little guy you kill it sets the production/bonuses of that starbase back an apropreat amount.
I was just thinking about star bases and came up with some ideas. First, you would only need to build one Constructor, to build the initial starbase. Once constructed, a supply line is established to the nearest planet with a Starport, similar to the way the Asteroid Fields now work. Or you could if you wanted, select another planet with a Starport to supply it, with some consequences I'll mention later. If you wanted to build a module, you would cl
ill ignor a research tile on a strictly manufacturing world. but thats the only other time. manufacturing tiles are the only ones i never ignor. everything else is per situation.
i just loaded and re-beat the game. and i know i started it though the metaverse button but it didnt give the prompt to submit my score... it might not have been hightly impresive but i got 23800 points and id kinda like to have them and whatever medels that gets me on my account.
i dont remember getting the prompt... is it too late to record them now?
i just finished my first metaverse game difficulty tough, i was evil and i won a military vicotry against 4 apponents on a medium map with abundent EVERYTHING. when i was done it said my score should be logged in the history book of the metaverse, but i logged in and it says iv played 0 games, but it did give me the cakewalk medal... whats up with that, i dont want it to say i won on cakewalk... thats not impressive at all, it only makes me look like a tool for playing that easy. did i do somt
ive seen this event several times now, both in DA and DL. and yes the minors seem more willing to trade techs, though this could be due to this event. i dont know for sure. but the event had nothing to do with your trying to put a spy on thier planet. ive never tryed spying on a minor befor and ive seen this several times now. i do quite like the envent its a nice twist. but ive had it and the minor r
