GalCiv II: Dark Avatar 1.6 betas start this week

Later this week we plan to put onto Stardock Central the first betas of Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar 1.6.  We expect the beta process to take roughly a month.  These betas are optional, so don't feel you have to use them.  But if you want to try out what we've been working on, these will hopefully do the trick.

Any clues on what they acctually did with the 1.6 version, which suggestions were taken to heart and possibly done to the game? How do you get a beta version?

The beta version is usually available through Stardock Central, which you can get through the download page of this site.

Damn, everything I own is updating this week. M2TW sucks(and their support blows to the point they lost my business), so that one can wait.
EU3 and GCII may keep me busy. Thankfully it's not today, as I have some work to do at some point.

EU3 = Europa Universalis 3. I have that one to play myself, but I've been too busy with Guild Wars lately.

EU3 is not EU2- but it's a good game in its own right. Like GCII better, but EU3 has a more RPG-ish feel.

You need to use Stardock Central. (You can download it from the main page.) When it boots it will show you some tabs. The topmost tab is "games". In that folder you will find GalCiv2. Make sure the "Show Pre-release versions" checkbox at the bottom of the application is checked. If an update or beta release is available you will see a new button beside the game that says, "Update".

I went to Stardock Central and downloaded 1.59.078. Is that the beta? What exactly is this version???? Where can I go to see the history of what is in this version?
