Is there a website where I can download custom ship designs?

Simple graphics could play a part in the charm. For example, Heroes 2 graphics are more cartoony but also more charming than the "realistic" graphics of Heroes 3.
I've never played Master of Orion 2 (MOO2) before but I have played MOO1. How does MOO2 compare to GalCiv2 if we ignore the graphics?
Seems like it's a bug on Kalypso's version of 2.02. Apparently not many people playing this version comes to the forums or bother playing campaigns.
How come nobody reads Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's novels? The Dragonlance series authored by them (there are other authors in the series too) started off mediocre but got better with every new trilogy. Memorable characters, death of major characters, devastating world-changing events, they are all included. Especially in the later books, things that you never thought would happen will happen. Also a bit of time travelling here and there, spices things up a little
So far I have managed to win my games on Large maps, Tough difficulty, 9 opponents with only Lasers/Railguns/Stingers. So haven't really seen the need for the components. Maybe I need to up the difficulty to Crippling.
What about this item called militaristic (it's +ve for some civs and -ve for others)? I have declared war and eliminated civs before, but I haven't seen any negative effect yet.
Ok, I thought the purpose of adding these fleet components in TA is to make fleets somewhat more useful with the new combat mechanics. Now, it seems like it's just an enhancement.
How are militaristic +ve & -ve bonuses determined?
That makes components that give 10% bonus attack almost useless. If I can get a single ship with 10 attack, it is not even worth it to get the extra 1 attack (considering the research & extra cost).
I thought the purpose of reaching Advanced espionage status on a civ is to get tech steals. There is no practical difference otherwise between the High and Advanced status.
The spies are not dead. They continue to collect info on the dead civ. It would make more sense if they collect data on the conqueror civ.
And what exactly is the bonus given to military?
I am playing the Krynn and the Righteous Fleet Defense ship component (+30% defense) doesn't seem to have any impact on my fleet. I combined 3 ships with an individual defense of 1/3/1, and all I get is 3/9/3 total fleet defense, no additional 30% bonus at all. Does the defense component only work if the individual piece of defense is 4 or more (30% of 4 to get bonus of 1 defense)? Also there seems to be an oversight for the tech Duranthium III. After researchin
Maybe that's why the Thalans have -30% diplomacy, then.
Even with -30% diplomacy, I don't mind paying more for the essential techs. The benefits (cheaper manufacturing facilities, cheaper research facilities, soldiering) far outweight the disadvantages.
I am not advocating turning off tech brokering. It's just that some civs can gain quite a significant advantage by trading for a few select techs not in their tech tree. I can't help thinking that those techs that are not in their tech tree are purposely omitted to counterbalance the advantages of that civ.
I feel that the differing tech trees in the game makes for more robust trading - you're a lot more willing to pay for tech you just can't research yourself.
The problem is does the AI know how to exploit this or recognise the human's intention when trading for these techs?
To maintain the racial balance, the ability to trade for techs not in your civ's tech tree should not be allowed. For example, the Thalans have very few soldiering techs, no Orbital Bombardment, no Tidal assault, no Stellar Marines, making them relatively weak in ground assault. They do have 1 good +30% soldiering tech, but this is super expensive. However, if they buy all those missing soldiering techs from other civs, coupled with their own formidable tech, they sudde
So how does the individual game affect the metaverse? A mediocre player will not even make a dent.
Not yet. Let me guess, is the answer "42"?
so where are they all immigrating from?
Well, the universe is infinitely big. We only play the game on a small portion (the game screen) of the universe. People could migrate from outside this space or come from another dimension. Didn't the Thalans just did that?
why are less than 1% of them paying taxes,
They are paying taxes to the other governments on the planet. Our job is to make our government the most popula
The Restaurant of Eternity GA seems to pay tribute to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. The 2nd book is named the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, and in this place you can experience what eternity is like.
With the invention of hyperspace, people are mobile. If your approval is high, people on your planet or from other civilizations' planets migrate to join you, thereby boosting your population tremendously. I can live with this explanation.
In TA, the Thalans start off with the ability to build some powerful GA very cheaply. These make the homeworld a powerhouse and as long as the Thalan can expand quickly, with this superb headstart they can be a force to be reckoned with.
Seems like either 2.02 or Ultimate Edition is more buggy. The "Continue Game" button is permanently greyed out. It used to work properly before the 2.0 patch.
