A pity the lore is limited and sometimes contradicting. Also, some of it is reserved for GalCiv3. Is there a coherent lore covering all the way to the end of TA?
Could've said that first.
I already mentioned it in the original post:
when this ship is combined with an identical ship
What is the purpose of the Metaverse? Never tried this before.
But the Drengin & Korath control most of the galaxy at the end of DA. TA campaign did not do much damage to Drengin & Korath, so the rest of the races should still be suffering. Maybe only the return of Alan Bradley with DL technology can turn the tide. Also, it was never explained what happened to Nero Mancer, the male Altarian leader. Did he die and get replaced with the female leader?
This is a result of "destroyed" ships firing back in DA and TA. The "single powerful" ship could withstand it, but for some reason it's not the priority target (attack / defense + hp).
The problem is that both the ships in the fleet are exactly the same, equally powerful when they are separate, and will destroy the Dreadlord ship on their own when they are separate. There is no reason for a combined fleet to lose one of these ships. That's why
What's the official word on what actually happened at the end? What happened to the Dread Lords and Arnor, Drengin and the rest?
Has anybody seen these bugs in 2.02 TA campaign (Kalypso Ultimate Edition)? 1. Campaign movie keeps showing every time game is loaded for every campaign scenario, whether it is a new game or not. 2. Survey ship set on autoexplore may enter wormhole and get teleported to the other end of the galaxy. Even though the range is exceeded, it can still autoexplore (but you cannot manually move the ship). 3. Arnor dreadnought attacking Dreadlord ship may occas
Yes, I am more concerned with the loading of a saved game. Unless I stopped playing a saved game for a month, I don't need constant reminding. I don't know of any other game that keeps doing this on every loading. It feels more like a bug than a feature, as if the software cannot differentiate between a new game and a saved game.
5/5 or 3/5... we do it once, only.
The same sequence of Research screen followed by HW screen shows up everytime you load the game, so it is not once only. I don't need to be reminded of what I am researching or what I have in my HW EVERY single time. Reducing the number of mouseclicks, especially unnecessary ones is a good programming practice.
The game shows the tech screen followed by the homeworld planet screen every time a new game or saved game is loaded. I don't need to see them everytime a game is loaded and have to cancel them whenever loading a game. Is there any way to set the game to just get right to the main game universe screen?
Just to add, this is on Kalypso's Ultimate Edition.
This is the first time I am playing the ToA campaign after upgrading to v2.02. Is there some setting issue?
And it comes with a nice Ultimate Edition manual too. Good!
"Ultimate Edition" with all the localizations is the one with the problems. "Ultimate Bundle Pack" is the US version. Impulse may have it but there probably is a price difference between the 2 versions.
but it will mean hiring people or a company for translations, unless they intend on making this english only...
Only Europe, China, Japan, (& Korea?) will require translations/localizations. The rest of the world play English games only. I've never heard of any games in Swahili/Hindi/Arab/Southeast Asian languages.
EU patch is out a while ago. Unless UE makes more changes to DA/TA files, it shouldn't take that long to "copy" the required files for patching.
Formula: (1+planetary bonus+PP) x = (1+planetary bonus)(x+1) Solve for x, that gives your break-even point. You could also plug in base ip for a more accurate result, but it's not worth it.
Stardock should have included an in-game calculator for this. V2.1 patch? [e digicons]:)[/e]
In the future though I will not buy anything from Kalypso again.
Isn't Sins of a Solar Empire published by Kalypso? Stardock will suffer from your decision too.
Why add additional techs (and more complications) to the tech tree for some improvements which have minimal use? By merely researching the factory techs, I can get all the production I want.
These seem quite weak as they have high maintenance and only give small %tage bonuses. Somemore you have to research them on a separate tree. When are they really worth it?
If I successfully invade a planet but I don't have the corresponding environment tech, what happens to the planet? Do I lose all my troops?
You can always play some other game first, like Civ4.
I thought a ship with high attack & low HPs would become the priority target? The icebreaker would always be the last one to be hit instead of drawing fire to protect the rest of the fleet.
I assume as you go from Republic to Democracy to Federation, your approval level must be higher than 70%? The game doesn't seem to use a moving average value for the approval during votes. It doesn't seem right that years of extremely high taxes don't impact the vote as long as you drop the tax rate during the election year. Also, whoever has heard of an evil Federation? Sounds weird.
According to the wiki, The planet's approval modifier is: - 0 if approval is less than 21%. In addition, you lose 10% of your existing population per turn. - 0 for approval between 21 and 40% (pop doesn't grow). - 1 for approval between 41% and 75% inclusive. - 1.25 for approval between 76% and 99% inclusive. - 2 for 100% approval without the Super Breeder special ability or 8 for 100% approval with Super Breeder. But the approval nu
