Post your debug.err file information; that may help to track down the problem. It is found in the main program folder.

They don't always research the defense for their own offense. They will research the defense that matches their opponents offense also. In my last game the chosen weapons were beam and missle. I developed beam then mass drivers, and I don't build ships until I need to. That way my mass drivers will not taken into account by their defenses. Their ships had combinations of shield and point defenses, but no armor. And they usually use very little defense as it is, so my Doomra
Why not just build a ship with lots of engines, life support, and a colony module to begin with?
If they didn't, they do now. I have captured several world's with NLC's on them.
Have you checked in your driver options? I know that in the Matrox option there is one for selecting where dialog boxes will be placed. One of the options is "in the display with the mouse cursor". I don't recall ever seeing those types of options with the Nvidia or ATI software, though. Matrox always has been ahead of the game when it comes to multi-display, too bad they are so lousy with game performance.
I'll be trying it in my next game. I'll let you know what I think.
Maybe the difficulty setting has something to do with it. At the lower intelligence settings thay may just be too dumb to recognize a good thing. I see the tiles used correctly a lot of the time, and sometimes not as much. The Yor sure don't seem too bright, in any case. I have them set at genius right now, and they still can't figure out to build a few farms and not place embassies on 300% research tiles. Maybe if they had the extra people and research, they could better fend off my troops and
No, they are controlled in the .exe file as far as I know, so are not moddable.
How would it make things more fair?
The only way around it that I can think of would be to modify the techs for each race in the RaceConfig.XML file. You could probably make a RaceConfig.XML with the required techs, and replace the original when playing the scenerio. An extra step, but it should be doable. Just be sure you leave out the Tech Victory tech, or you will win the game on the first move.
Missles are great for offensive punch, but lousy in the combat viewer. The Doomray and Black Hole Gun are what I usually go for, just because they look so cool. A Doomray combined with a couple Black Hole Guns gives a nice visual, with the Doomray slicing out first followed up by the slower Black Hole Gun. But I have games where the Ai uses mainly a single tech, two or all three. Usually it is two of them though. My last game everyone was using missles, except for the Drengin who
You could probably slow it down enough by editing the TechTree.XML file, and changing the cost value. Multiplying them by 3 or 4 should slow things down quite a bit.
Because you will spend so much time playing the game, you won't have time to go out and spend money on anything else. It will save you soooo much money.
Too cool. The waiting for release is torture, by the way. Any idea how long?
There are anomolies that increase abilities and cash, both of which could tip the balance of power in (or out of) your favor. I send out 4-5 survey ships to snag as many as I can, and use the cash bonuses to buy colony ships. If each ship can snag a $2,500 bonus they pay for themselves as well as another colony ship/building.
Yes, post the debug.err found in the programs main folder. That may help a lot to determine where it is crashing, possibly why it is crashing. Just open it with notepad, copy and paste everything into the reply window.
Have you tried clicking the "Roll Back" button in the drivers tab for your video card in Device Manager?
AllowCPUIntensiveAlgorithms=1 Setting this line (in the Prefs.ini) to "1" might help with the AI, but it will take more CPU, so more time for turns to complete. Probably shouldn't do it on a slow machine. It's about half way down, in the GalaxySetup section.
So, when can we download them?
When are they going to be available for download?
Well, you know that an ally won't start a war with you. And, if they are attacked you will be asked to join in their war. Your ally may start a war with another race, but I have never been asked to join in a war that the ally started. My allies have jumped in to help me in both wars that I have started and in wars where I was attacked first. There is an "attack" option in the trade window on both sides. But sometimes you may have to bribe even an ally to attack. Give them someth
That has been disabled for some time now. I am wondering, since this site is sooo graphic heavy, if one or two of the graphic files might be infected with something, or something.
It's an anti virus program that has been around for at least 8 years. I have been using it on and off since 1998. Trend Micro puts it out.
