So I guess the metaverse is simply a glorified score sheet where you can track the games you have played? IMO, if metaverse is going to live up to it's rep, it needs to have ability to track the game I played, with specific conditions and others can play it with the same exact conditions with exception they can use their own race. Otherwise, your score & my score are just apples and oranges.

I've been experimenting with turning trading off. I for one have better things to do than try to figure out the logic that is behind whether they will accept anything in trade or not. And I don't have to worry about using the stupid trading interface to keep myself from getting 20 levels behind in tech b/c the AI trades between themselves relentlessly. Even the playing field & turn trading off when you start your game. The only p

I went through all that pain to get an ally in one game, they were between me and drengin. When drengin attacked, they "went to war" with them as well since we were allies, but they were pitiful. The drengin just went right through their systems without a scratch (didn't attack them, traveled 1/2 the map to attack my worlds). I ended up taking out Drengin all by myself and discarding the alliance to wipe them out as well. It's my only exper

I can't believe I'm seeing all those anomolies still around & resources that don't look like they have SB's on them?? I had a game I played last night where I was able to suck up 6 out of the 8 resources...the AI doesn't seem to be interested in them as much as they were before.

While I think this whole score thing is just plain silly b/c you never are comparing apples to oranges (if it meant something, we would all be playing the same exact scenario). Scores are just an accredidation for how much you play and it serves as a good record of the games you've played. It really doesn't mean one player is better than the other. Saying that... Galaxy size, # of oppenents, difficulty and planet / star abundancy

Frogboy - when you say you haven't seen it, what can I do to help you out? Eg, if I see it, should I immediately save the game and send it to you? Typically I think that the result is hard to debug when you are seeing the result and not the turn preceding it. I just keep a notepad next to me while playing & these are the things that I saw. The strangest by far was the AI ship being right under my SB...so if I select the starbase, both the s

You've had a good run, but I think somewhere along the line you forgot to regression test. I just played my first game on the new beta and I found: 1. When selecting "build" in the small planet window, and select a ship, the queue remains empty. You have to go to large planet screen and select build from there to get it to work (later in the game, it started working??) 2. Early in the game I had a balance of 600bc, I was making 13

I'm sure I missed it 'cause I thought the point of metaverse was to be able for people to play each other's games. When I go to a user's account page to see their detail, I can see the result of the games they've played, but I can't figure out how to play that game (but with my race perhaps?) and retain all their settings. Help?

The "plain" military starbase (that you can create w/out a resource) is invaluable for protecting your fleets. You need to research the Starbase Projection part of the tree, and you get a number of killer things to help support your fleets within the area of effect. Note: Each item takes a constructor to enable...only enable those things that make sense. eg, if your ships are missle ships, don't upgrade the beam assist and if the enemy is us

I have played quite a few games, and got comfortable on normal with an economy strategy & started playing tough. I think I lost 4 of my first 6 games pretty bad. It seemed like luck and I was continually pissed off by the AI who was tech trading like mad. I never had anything to trade, they were trading so much amongst themselves and to make matters worse, my economy strategy that played so well on normal wasn't holding up. One day on the

That is precisely the reason to do it. No matter what your justifications are for the system, if 90% of your players (my guess is this number is actually even higher - I would be surprised if any non-developer actually understands the system 100%) can't understand the system, it may be time for a new one. Ultimately I feel

Ah, thank you. Such a powerful weapon, I'm going to start doing mass-driver theory earlier. I typically go for lasers early on, but I switch mid-game to mass-driver. I think I'll have to switch them around

Ok, I give up. I can't find it. It mysteriously appears during the latter stages of the game. Obviously I've hit some combination where it is available and it is such a powerful weapon, I'd like to aim for it instead of aimlessly getting it without knowing how. What is the combination for getting it?

A few things that I'd like to comment / ask questions on about what happens before and after battle: 1. When AI threatens me (extorts money/tech) from me to "let me live", I don't see where I can do this right back at them. Sometimes I'm not that interested in going after a weaker opponent, but want to keep them in their place & make some $$ off them. How can I do that? 2. When the AI attacks me, it's so nice that they give me

I finally played a large universe and grew frustrated by the continued "focus" the game gives to idle fleets. For example, you move one ship / fleet, and the game keeps panning back to the same friggen ship! Is there a way to cycle to the next idle ship? I don't mind looking at idle fleets/ships every once in a while, but I've got to figure out how to stop the engine from doing this! The biggest issue is when I'm going throug

I'd like to offer up the observation that it seems very wasteful to have constructors be destroyed when upgrading a starbase. I mean, in addition to the constructor module, they are also a hull and have engines (at a bare minimum). These are very expensive to create, particularly the fast ones (13pc is my quickest one used in a large universe). To give you an idea, it takes about 16-20 constructors to completely outfit (up to starbase Mark

As it now stands, it takes between 5-8 troop transports (holding 1000-2000 troops each) to successfully take over a Grade 15-21 planet. I don't mind throwing troops into battle, but I for one can't stand losing the troop transport. I'd like these to live (be empty) so I can return to one of my planets and get some more troops. I think the ability to build starbases orbiting planets so that the attackers would have to get through these would

Influence is broken, plain & simple. I've been playing several different variants to try & figure this game out. I want to echo what SouFile777 said in that it is very frustrating to try & GUESS what a strategy game is supposed to do. I was experimenting with a strategy where I would rush outside of my borders in the beginning, ignoring the planets nearby and then build influence starbases to turn them later. I had each alien planet being
