Is it just that the launcher won't run, or the entire game? Have you tried going into the game's directory and double-clicking the DA executable directly? In the directory it's the GC2DarkAvatar.exe that you should try running, not the DALaunch, that's just the lanucher which wouldn't work for me.

Certainly I'll eventually get used to single clicking, but years of double-clicking have made it very difficult to kick the habit. I also ask as a means to stop others from making the same mistake.
Several times now I have double-clicked on a game in the load/save menu, intentending to save the game, only to load one. Luckily so far I've only lost a couple of turns work through loading older versions of the same game. It would be nice, however, if double clicking game names on this menu saved games instead of loading them. Most games have seperate save and load menus, and double clicking in the save on will save the game, hence my double clicking in this game. It is far more disaster
Well I tried disabling Nod, to no avail. This doesn't matter anymore though, as I've got TA now. Thanks for helping.
Simply put - it won't work. I've gone through and updated all my drivers and updated DA fully as well. When I click to start the launcher it comes up with the following: [Window Title] Microsoft Windows [Main Instruction] DALaunch.exe has stopped working [Content] Windows is checking for a solution to the problem... [Cancel] This isn't really a major problem, as I can just directly launch GC2DarkAvatar.exe and the game works fine, but it's irritating me not
Will do, thanks.
Right, here's the problem, when trying to download .zip files from the library using Firefox I get the following: WWW Link . As the above image shows, Firefox is not recognizing the download as a .zip, if I download the file then right-click on it and select properties it shows its file-type as "File" which is no good to anyone since it won't open with anything. Does anyone else have this problem, does
Not so much a bug, more of an annoyance but here's a grammar mistake I found where the full stop is in the wrong place: Nellup
I've finally got mine working! - I got that e-mail too TheLaywer although it didn't work for me, I also had to delete the sig.bin file and re-activate it to get it to accept games. Nellup
Another problem I've noticed is that if you destroy a colony (reducing the PQ to 0) it still shows as being a habitable planet if you click on the star i.e. it says 1 habitable planets even if none of the now are. Nellup
CrushaB, I have the same problem its because, for some reason, the servers and your application have different serial numbers, the best thing to do is e-mail customer support and wait for them to get back to you. Nellup
Right, thanks. Nellup
Hi, I'm just wondering whether the metaverse is working properly after DA was released, because I keep on getting an error 12 (serial does not match metaverse serial), I've sent an e-mail to support (and got a reply, which didn't work, so I sent another) although I then realised the metaverse may not be working as I still have a racial medal even though the Korath and Krynn now exist also when you create a character you enter the DL serial, not the DA one (which I tried with a new chara
I have noticed that in games where Tech Trade is allowed, all AI seem to get same weapons. Logically they trade around so thats how it starts. I decided to test this, I started a new game playing as the Iconian Refuge, with tech trading disabled. I chose to use beam weapons, by the middle of the game everyone (9 civilisations) was using beam weap
The difficulty medal for obscene level is spelt obscne, you need another e in there. Sorry to be so picky, but I am a perfectionist.
when I looked at the clock it was 2 and a half hours later in the blink of an eye! That is the only problem with this game, it is addictive with the "just one more turn" attitude. I once stayed up until midnight playing the game because I didn't realise what the time was, I find the best way to stop playing is to finish a game because then m
I was wondering how people decided what weapons to use (Beam, Missile or Mass Driver), do you go with the same every game or do you change each game? Also I've noticed that if you go down one weapon branch, the computer also goes down that branch. For example I am playing as the Korx and am using mass driver tech, all the computer player except one are also using masss driver, is this intended or just a huge coincidence?
Does anyone actually use the core designs anyway?
Thank you, I had searched the GalCiv2 directory in program files for a way, but it never occured to me that it might be in My Documents.
Is there way to delete all your custom ship designs without going into a game, researching the right techs to get them and then deleting them?
Does anyone know how to make the game run in a window on XP?
Thanks
How do you get the racial medal?
To change the name you can either double-click on the ships name in HUD at the bottom, or just next to the ships name there should be a symbol that looks a bit like a scroll, you can click that to change the ships name. Same applies for fleets, and planets for that matter.
