DA startup launcher and vista

Simply put - it won't work.

I've gone through and updated all my drivers and updated DA fully as well. When I click to start the launcher it comes up with the following:

[Window Title]
Microsoft Windows
[Main Instruction]
DALaunch.exe has stopped working
[Content]
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...
[Cancel]

This isn't really a major problem, as I can just directly launch GC2DarkAvatar.exe and the game works fine, but it's irritating me not being able to use the launcher, so is there any work around. I've tried running it in XP compatibility mode.

It could be a variety of reasons, chiefly antivirus programs (McAfee in particular), so that's one thing you can look into.

Well I tried disabling Nod, to no avail. This doesn't matter anymore though, as I've got TA now. Thanks for helping.

I'm having a similar problem in that I was initially able to install the game but it won't run. Receive the same error you did Nellup. After a few variations on uninstall/reinstall and doing a full game update, now it won't even install on my system. I have a home built Vista system. Dual-core Intel, GeForce8800, 3GB ram. Any suggestions?

Is it just that the launcher won't run, or the entire game?
Have you tried going into the game's directory and double-clicking the DA executable directly?
In the directory it's the GC2DarkAvatar.exe that you should try running, not the DALaunch, that's just the lanucher which wouldn't work for me.
