Team is for some of the campaign missions and a couple of the sandbox scenarios. It's an alliance that can't be broken.

I've given up trying to name them. I just give them numbers. F1 Fighter F2 Fighter F3 Fighter FE1 Escort FE2 Escort FG1 Frigate FG2 Frigate BB1 Battleship BB2 Battleship D1 Dreadnought etc, etc, etc
I usually rush to "Space Weapons" as quickly as I can, then start building "Defender"s on each planet that's built its starport. Each planet needs a ship in orbit anyway and the attack strength goes from "1" to "2" since it's kept in the starport. Just doing that usually gives me a high rating early on. By the time anyone catches up, I've had time to research at least to "Laser V" and enhanced miniaturization and can put out small hull ships with 5 or 6 laser attack (depends on if I
I saw that bug in earlier versions. I usually solved it by teleporting the ship one square away, but since the cheat codes are broken in 1.2.........
Minor races still appear in games, even if you disable them while setting up the galaxy. I have a save file if you need it. Also... about 1 game out of 3, it's offering to post scores to the metaverse, even though I'm not playing a metaverse game. I even posted one just to see if it would work, and it flagged it as a cheat (i didn't cheat) and flagged *me* as "cake walk" (it wasn't on cake walk). So.... several things went wrong on that.
I've turned the option back to the way it was. It caused more trouble than the old way. It's annoying to have the camera jerked around at random, but at least that lets me know it's selected the wrong ship and which one it is.
I have something that sounds similar. I tried naming some ships the same way the game does. 1-Heavy Fighter M2-1 for a Drengin fighter, for example. When I went to upgrade the weapons, the functional components were much larger and stuck to the wrong hard points. The jewelry was removed altogether. It happened with two different designs. I was playing as Drengin and using the Drengin hull style.
Really? It seems to be fixed for me now (1.2 b). I haven't once had a ship forget its orders in the new beta.
The limit isn't 4 bases per sector. It's 4 bases per race per sector.
The AI still can't tell the difference between a base and a planet and will declare war if you have transports near one of their bases. ...Even if that base is next to your home world. This just ruined a game I spent 3 hours on.
The AI still can't tell the difference between a starbase and a planet. I just had four friendly civs declare war in the same turn because I parked transports next to my home world. All four had influence bases there. I've gone back to 3 different save points and war is declared in every one, even if I move the transports elsewhere. That game is ruined now after three hours of playing it, Would you PLEASE correct this?
DEATH TO THE TORIANS!!!! And the Arceans for that matter. Those two get on my nerves. I'm betting its between the Altarians, the Torians and the Arceans. All three were defeated by the Drengin/Yor alliance in the campaign. Toria Prime was practically destroyed when it was invaded.
The production/research bonuses don't happen. One of the developers confirmed that. Whether they are going to fix that or just change the text so it doesn't claim to do it is up in the air. The economic boost should still be there.
The "flagship" is a "survey vessel"-class medium-hull ship with a custom name.
I lost a frigate while attacking a freighter. I heard the sound of plasma weapons when I attacked, but any time I looked at the other freighters on that trade route, none of them were armed.
Yeah, I wish it were documented somewhere, so I can quit wasting space on life support modules that are going to be ignored anyway. It's like the sensor cap. Put on all the sensors you like and it still won't see past 15pc, but that's not documented anywhere either.
It does seem to be suicidal to not use some defenses in 1.2. I was losing ships at a catastrophic rate in a "tough" game against the Altarians. I upgraded the engines on a frigate design, had room left over and put on a shield module. The new frigate did better and it wasn't much more expensive. When the Altarians started sending in battleship/frigate fleets with no defenses at all, I slaughtered them every time. When they started using missile defense against my harpoons and psionic
I hate to say this, but the alteration to autofocus actually made the situation worse. The problem wasn't fixed, only one of the side effects. The camera jerking back and forth across the map - which is what was fixed - wasn't the problem. That was only the more annoying side effect of the problem. The problem is that is still selects ships without being told to do that. And now that it doesn't center the view onto whatever ship it selected, it's even harder to realize that you aren't
Two ideas actually 1) Have a way to select multiple ship designs in the shipyard window and obsolete the whole lot of them in one click, rather than click, obsolete, click, obsolete, click, obsolete, etc etc etc 2) An option to just not have core warships show up in the shipyard/build list. I don't use them and they clutter up the list.
It looks like cheat mode stops working if you reload a save file. They work in a new game, but once you save, quit and restart, they no longer work.
Supposedly they have fixed this in 1.2. Install the update and that shouldn't happen any more.
I can't seem to find "Political Capital" planet improvement after researching star democracy? That was in one game. I'll see if it happens in the next.
I have that bug too still. I even obsoleted the Ranger design and THAT didn't make it stop. I was still spending the money. God only knows what would have happened if I hadn't canceled it in the governor.
Good does have a few nice bonuses. Arnorian battle armor adds to all ships' hit points. Dynamic shielding, telepathic point defense and subspace rebounder enhance the defense strength of all warships, without having to install the modules. The defense modules themselves are fairly powerful, but too expensive to really use. Empathic Tactical Defense adds more defensive strength to all warships. Hall of empathy .... I don't know if it actually works, but there's nothing wrong
HALLALUYAH! My neighbors thank you
