Upgrading (gift)ships of other shipset causes erroneous display

GFX bug

This bug is most easy to explain step by step...

* When I trade with computers I can trade for their ships;
* When I have their ships I wish to upgrade them to my newest but-kicking design.
* Sometimes the shipsets are different from my own. (Say... I have a terran set, they have a yor set).
* When the upgrade is complete the ship is not remoddeled into my own design, but it is some strange mixture which does not make any sence. (graphics wise)

This was in 1.1; I have not yet verified if this problem still exists in 1.2...

This still existed in 1.2 beta 1. It has been fixed for the next update. When you upgrade a ship, it will change to your civ style even if it was originally another style.

Thank you for reporting this one to us.

I have something that sounds similar. I tried naming some ships the same way the game does. 1-Heavy Fighter M2-1 for a Drengin fighter, for example.

When I went to upgrade the weapons, the functional components were much larger and stuck to the wrong hard points. The jewelry was removed altogether. It happened with two different designs.

I was playing as Drengin and using the Drengin hull style.

I have the same problem as mikeswi with the new beta 2 version. When I upgrade a ship I loose all the jewelry. I was playing human with some custom designs from the library.
