There are fifteen IIRC, but you won't get them all in one playthrough as there are a few divergent paths in it that you'll only see if you lose a non-vital mission (several of them can be lost and you'll still continue on). They do join back together for the same ending, though. Multiple/divergent paths but same ending, I like that one (like Dune

Since I got the game, I was playing more on the randomized galaxy map and/or with customized civ... I stopped playing the Dread Lord campaign long time ago because I find randomized map/customized civ game to be more interesting. Now I'm used to the flow of the single player random map, I've started playing the Dread Lords Campaign again from the very start to change the game experience, back to the epic-story, missions based gaming the way it was intended by the devs. There are alread
Here's another example of the mysterious, overall ranking (miscalculation) Population 1st Economy 1st Military 2nd Technology 1st Approval Rating 1st Popularity 3rd Treasury 1st Influence 1st Production 1st My overall ranking is 4th
I have the v1.4x patch of galciv2: Dread Lords I do check the overall ranking of the civs from time to time but for a while now, there must be a wrong formula for calculating the overall ranking of the civs. Usually my ranking is lower than what I should be. The following is an example... The following is my ranking list (located at the right side of the stat's & graphs tab, from the civilization manager button): Population 1st Economy 1st Military
Yes it would really really be nice to have mini-missions (and also the space monsters), except that as Robert Foley mentioned above, it can get quite complicated or overwhelming to the developers, as for players, they should have the option to enable it or not this feature. Also this extra feature will add more memory demand on your system as the program needs to load this missions in memory to keep track of your mission, or/and other civ's missions as well. So if it's too comp
Hi Draginol, I'm just curious to this story your telling about the game... The tide was turning. Xasica Thrall was liberated. It would be renamed Xasica Liberty from here on out. Meanwhile, life on Xasica Liberty was interesting. The locals, mostly Drengin colonists still, did not think much of humans referring to them as "vile". <
Just a comment on Citizen GeoRElrod's subject about music theme... Well, I think the music is fine enough. Everybody's musical taste is different. For some people, like me, having a soothing music can relax the player while playing. The space is dark, dangerous place, yes, but there is light, the stars, the suns, nebulas, etc that keeps it bright, colourful, and a beautiful, and there living creatures that don't bite. A soothingly lively music would be pleasing to the ears while exp
Sorry it's not bug report just a galciv2 game question.... can the moderator transfer this thread to 'GalCiv II - Game Talk'? Thanks!
I have succeeded in influencing the major races' member planets through influence starbases stationed near by, or basically because of my influence strength.... But never ever have I influenced their capital/home planet, or a minor race home planet to rebel and flip to my side. I can understand that a minor race with a single planet could defect by influence of another civ, but I just think that it would be a joke that the capital planet would defect to another civ without a fight. But t
Missions/ mini-missions options would be interesting in a game. An emperor, or a ruler of a major civilization, do need from time to time, to personally, and actively handle matters of great interest to him/her in the form of missions, rather than the usual, passivelyu choosing yes, maybe, no, or good, neutral, evil decisions for the random planetary events. Please add this as an option. After completing a mission, reward can be increase in influence, extra cash, extra ships
Something for you to read about the Dark Yor from my own experience and encounters with them... OK, we have the Yor Collective as one of the major civs, but who is the Dark Yor? The Yor Collective and the Dark Yor have the one word in common, 'Yor'. But what makes the Dark Yor different from the Yor Collective, other than they are a minor race, and owns only one planet. I looked up the pdf manual, the beginner's guide, the metaverse-galactic databank-civilizations, and there's no men
aaahhh.... that one... I skipped that section, I was looking at the picture and thought it was just a wall paper download.... alright I'll check it out. Thanks!
I think the DA solution sounds good but the question of whether or not the defeated empires fleet joins up should probably have something to do with how the conquering empire's alignment matches up with the defeated empire. I could see evil forces joining up with an evil empire that defeated them and is therefore obviously more powerful. Good Ar
If you havn't already, install Stardock Central. Click 'Games'. You will be prompted what to do next. The download requires a credit card and an internet connection. Hi Mistralok So where can I install this Stardock Central software, where's the link? I went to home, databanks, downloads, forum, journals, library, metaverse, scr
Your missing out by not being part of the very stable beta it's miles better than Dread Lords already. Yeah you might be right, I'm missing out by not trying the Beta... you can buy Dark Avatar now from Stardock Ce
I'm in for the Space Monster. As a former player of MOO2, having space monsters really adds the spice factor to the game. I would love to see it in GalCiv2 too. monster types, derived from MOO2 Space Dragon - 8 phsors Eye, 1 Dragon Breath Space Amoeba - Caustic Slime Space Hydra Space Eel - Plasma Flux, Lightning Field Space Crystal - Crystal Ray, 3 Death Spores Guardian - 2 Death Ray, 10 Particle Beam, 2 Plasma Torpedo, Achilles Targeting Unit, Battle Sca
Thanks Kryo... that's cool. So now it's just a matter of waiting... I'm not really in a hurry, to be honest, the present game GalCiv2:Dread Lords is already a marvel on its own respect. Congratulations on that! But extra features are very welcomed (i.e. better AI, more random events, spy options, moon mining, destroyed civ fleets joining your force, etc...), most of what others already mentioned in the forum. So developers, take a bit of time as necessary to make it even marvelous than the
There's a lot of excitement about this Dark Avatar. I hear lots of improvements like better AI, or extra tasks/options, like mining a moon, in the game. Sorry I'm still innocent about it so I have several questions. When is the release date in Canada? How much is it? Is this an expansion, or a stand-alone expansion? Is it compatible with the Dread Lords saved games? Will it physically be sold in retail stores or be downloaded only from your site? If it's sold at reta
https://www.galciv2.com/darkavatar/reports/Gamepl74.jpg according to this map Neala isn't really a 20 class planet... it has only 10 green tiles and one yellow tile... https://www.galciv2.com/darkavatar/reports/Gamepl113.jpg' seems like the Dread Lords are very advanced and quite scary to fight against, just look at the battle ratio 292 vs 5 on Dread lord vs Galactic Republic... https://www.galciv2.com/darkavatar/reports/Gamepl338.jpg so fro
thanks for the reply! Does that mean If I destroyed another civ and I'm good aligned, the ships will join me? I'm neutral aligned, the ships will split between me and piracy? I'm evil aligned, the ships will turn become pirates? what if I'm not a totally good, neutral, or evil, but somewhere in between i.e... evil-aligned civ who made some humane decisions on events, or a good-aligned civ who made some cruel crimes against humanity/animals/lifeforms/nature
The story was, my ally declared war on another civ, and to honor our alliance I was dragged into this senseless war. Well I wasn't really that prepared for war, I'm a research/diplomatic centred customized civ versus the sort of militaristic Drath... This Drath was kicking my butt hard, successfully destroyed several of my beloved trillions of credit, developed to the max influence and economic starbases, and some of my huge and medium class fighters. But no matter what, the
Thanks for the reply DethAdder, I'm playing the challenging difficulty, huge galaxy, 9 aliens right now... I've gotten past the steep climb, now it's sort of smooth ride, in terms of nobody really wants to create trouble with me. I have the highest influence in the game, above average technology and economy... But it's becoming more like I can win by influence only (like the last time), but by conquest, technology, I'm kind of lagging... still have to experiment with the conquest victory...
there's must be lots of brainers and/or time here to be able to play the game at varied high difficulty levels. I finished a normal difficulty level through influence victory, and now I'm trying a huge galaxy at 9 aliens challenging level on patch 1.4. I find the challenging level really tough. Usually some of the AIs have Manufacturing Capital within 6 months or 24 turns, while I was just starting to build one. The only thing I can think of to win in this challenging or higher dif
is it true the collector's edition has a poster of the tech tree? that's sweet. The regular galciv2 has a thick box, was expecting more than just CD and manual, but there's no tech tree poster:( that's kind of sad. But I never lose faith, I just printed a tech tree from the internet, made it a black and white, to save colour, and made it negative so there's more white than black to save black ink, it didn't print well on a 11x8.5 paper so I have to write down all the name of the t
I also regret I didn't buy the collector's edition, I don't regret the game... most of the time I read reviews and feedbacks online first before I buy a game, this game has a high rating, and so I bought, never regret it. MOO2 is a great game, GalCiv2 is also a great game for this time, and hopefully with the patch, it will be much better. Also , my regret is, after I purchase the GalCiv2 game, I'm lacking couple of hours of sleep per day <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/
