Although do note that some patches will require activation after being installed. I *think* 1.0X doesn't need it, but 1.1 most likely will. In this case you will need access to the net in order to activate it on the computer you installed it on. However, if your computer doesn't get access to the net at all, you can email stardock and they can tell you how to activate it from a computer with no internet access. It is still possible but it ta

The developers don't have time to read every single last post made on this forum. And so chances are they are not going to see anything posted. These forums are meant for discussions and minor bugs that can take time. However something that is actually preventing you from playing the game requires more attention. So the forums won't do. In this case you should email support directly, so you can get straight to them.
The reason they are destroyed when you use them *is* because they are expensive. Or rather, they want you to have to bare the cost of using them, and so force you to decide how many to make, where to use them etc. It is part of the design to be that way.
I have noted (in another thread, and should repeat it here), that his test *does* work in pre-1.0X versions, but does not otherwise. However the test doesn't prove that the AI cheats, just that it has a very rare bug that causes it to cheat (but only pre-1.0X). I have explained this on post #143 at https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=103881 The rest of
For 1 and 2. Turn on cheats and use the move-ship cheat, That would do what you want. Give you an unfair advantage tho
No. That would be you answer. The simplest answer would be that it is too late. Such a change would be too much of a major change at this point, and require extensive AI testing, game play testing and so on. I can't say why they didn't decide to include it in the first place, but I can guess that they decided the game would be better (for most) without it. Maybe you will be lucky in an expansion pack if they decide to i
Try a different server (settings->internet->server, or something like that)
So out of 1447 players that have submitted with a score above zero at any difficulty... ... For a total of 626. Or 43.26% Lies, damn lies and statistics... Ok, this is not a very accurate. Firstly you get a score whether you win or not. Secondly what yo
Damn, this thread never wants to die. Well, It is definately the case that the German reviewer was using an un-patched version of the game. Back when this thread was new and fresh I took an interest in this topic, as so I did some testing and came up with Link , which I posted way back when. Then Frogboy came up with this: Post #122 <TABLE
Reduction of waste spending, and all that jazz. You don't lose money fom wasted MP... any money you don't spend on a ship you built in that turn goes to your treasury. The only thing wasted is that extra manufacturing you *could've* done. If they allow for making sure you produce as much as
the [b2] means it is a beta. Which means it isn't the complete 1.1 version, and probably has bugs. I think they don't make this clear enough tho.
(If I tweak the files about the color of the races does this prevent me from sending my score to metaverse?) No. metaverse looks in the metaverse directory for the settings used in metaverse. Any changes outside of this will either make changes that don't affect the metaverse scoring, or will only af
+ AI is less rigid about trading weapons and techs with human player, it will trade low level techs even if the player is very powerful but not high level ones unless they are allied. Does this mean that the AI now distinguished between the player and other AI? If so, then that is a bit dissapointing
You do know what BETA means right? if you don't know what it means then it means "DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS PATCH! PERIOD." Betas are buggy. Thats why they are called Betas. Give them time. If you have a look around the place you can see all the work they are putting into these things. New ship parts are just one of many things they intended to do, and so far they have kept to their word pretty well.
This is my second game Not very statistically significant is it?
I'm not even going to dignify this post with a response.
Email support [email protected] tell them your situation and they will provide you with a work-around.
Ship designer bug - PLASMA weapons 50x bigger than the ship! Quite fun as bugs go Haha, thats awesome. Second to this is that "Bigger" is smaller and "Smaller" is bigger for this part, but I think this has been mentioned before. Also related to the ship designer, When you h
Two bugs regarding random opponents/ 1) When choosing random opponents, it never chooses terran alliance as one of them. 3) Which I believe is related to 1, If you ask for 9 opponents it will hang when you press the turn button. Except if you do custom race, or pick the terran Alliance. So it seems that it is missing the terran alliance in it's list of possible opponents to choose from. And so, when asking for 9 random
There is a planet thing you can build which increases repair rate for ships in orbit. Maybe that is what he meant... There may be a starbase module to for all I know
Perhaps we should have "Total War" Style play for invasion. So when you invade you go to this view and manage your troops. All 100 million of them... Now thats what I call a battlefield. Hope the processor can keep up
I think this is worth checking tho.. We all should try the same scenario and see what happens. Chances are that when you select custom race, the random selection "defaults" to you having selected the Terrans, in which case it never chooses it.
You can set your primary monitor to be the other monitor in the desktop setting where you setup the monitors. When you do that, windows should (i think) default to the other. Failing that, you can press alt-space which will bring up the menu you usually get when you right click the menu bar. From there there is a "move" option that you click and you can move the screen with the arrow keys
Umm... for the rest of the people who play this game it takes less than 30 seconds... If it is really taking 40 minutes then there is somethign really wrong with your setup. My first guess would be you have a virus checker on. One that is scanning every file on access... This is always going to cause problem. Second guess is you have a slow machine and, well, can't really blame the game on that. Third guess is you have
It behaves like any other patch in terms of installing and upgrading. However if there are many major bugs with it (which you can assume there are), then it would at worse screw up save games, ships etc. Once the next patch come out tho, it should be ok to re-upgrade. But be careful. A BETA is not like a normal release. Don't just get it because you want the new features RIGHT NOW - it is only for testing purposes.
