no internet guy got screwed

help

Hey folks

It's rare that I buy a game , but for this one I actually payed almost 50 bucks!!! All that hard labor to earn that money.... But hey, I heard this was supposed to be like MOO2 so I got right away. You guys are basking in the glory of an ancient relic, BUT, I hear good things about this so called "GCII".

My problem is this : I don't have the net so It's pointless to download Stardock central. But I want the patches for this game, so that I too, can listen to my mp3 playlist instead of the space music.

From this website I was able to get these files: "Enable-GalCiv2-Collectors-Edition.exe"
and "GalCiv2_10X_BonusPack_030806.exe"

...but I'm wondering are either of these the patch? From what I understand, I need stardock central to download a patch. HOW can I get it easily?
THe game developers should have it downloadable for people who don't have the net but who have this game.
After all I am a paying customer , I want to feel like Im getting the whole experience , ....
Thank you

1.0X (or some variant thereof) is the latest patch, so you already have it via the downlaod page (that version also includes bonus pack content that was not on the retail CD). Version 1.1 is currently in the works, and is in a beta stage right now. When it is finished it should be available on the downloads page as well.

kryo pretty much covered it. if you dont have the net, yet you have access sometimes, which im assuming since you posted this, you can create archives of patches and transfer them to your computer (i dont know how is done, i just know thats what people here have told people in your situation) also, you dont need the patches to listen to you own music in the game. theres no type of "player" to run your music, but if you go into the general music folder as well as the event music, you can replace anything in there with your own song. just find something you want to replace, save it somewhere else in case you need it again, and drop in your own song and give it the same name as what you replaced Ex. Battle00 or whatever the name is. and then when you start the game your music will play instead of their music. i have replaced nearly all their music with music from battlestar galactica that is similiar to what they had originally, it really gives a nice personalized feel.

Although do note that some patches will require activation after being installed. I *think* 1.0X doesn't need it, but 1.1 most likely will. In this case you will need access to the net in order to activate it on the computer you installed it on.

However, if your computer doesn't get access to the net at all, you can email stardock and they can tell you how to activate it from a computer with no internet access. It is still possible but it takes time. Basically your computer gives you a code, you email that code to them, they email you another code to enter. You enter it and then you can play the game. Easy.

The bonus pack is the patch. The collectors edition file will give you some additional ship jewelry.
