This happened to me in my current game as well, the Korath surrendured to the Drath and the Yor surrendered to the Thalans, both happened within a few turns of war being declared, I doubt that they even had any battles... Playing as the Korx I am now the last Evil empire , I was already at war with the Torians a few turns after the Yor surrendered Three races declared war on me at once, then the re
Why I don't care: Corporations exist not to make you happy, not to be your friend, thier single reason for existance is to MAKE MONEY. Thats just the way it is today not just in the gaming industry, but all industries, welcome to the real world, here's your yoke of corporate oppression. They wouldn't continue to do things like this if it wasnt profitable. You can vote with your wallet, dont like it - dont buy it. Your not enlightening anyone by bitching about it on forums.
Ive encountered this in my game aa well, mass driver weapons seem to ignore armor, I havent tried other defenses against them. With the changes to combat are the attackers now rolling for damage as well as the defenders rolling for damage absorbtion? As I recall the Weapons would always do max damage and the defenses would roll to see how much was absorbed. Also there was a UP resolution that all transport ships be armed with 5pts in all weapons (+15). When they attack/are at
Sounds to me like your playing the original GalCiv2 with the example mod the devs put in when they made it 'modder freindly'. The campaign for DA is not in yet, and even if the mod worked with DA it shouldn't affect asteroid fields and such(if I recall correctly it only changed race names/descriptions/pictures). Go to options uncheck the 'Use Mods' checkbox. Restart the game. Make sure your launching 'Galactic Civilizations II - Dark Avatar'. If that doesn't work then you may
Does that mean you can only receive one treaty at a time as well? If not, then a clever diplomat could wangle a treaty from each other race, giving them a super boost to economy or research. Would that be unbalanced? It seems you can receive as many treaties from different races as you would like (one from each) and they do stack, at least in Be
I suppose GalCiv 2 should be display in a completely made up language that you have to learn just to be able to play then? Darn "newbs" and not already knowing that language. Ending a turn is too easy in GalCiv, all you have to do is press a button. You should have to play an extremely difficult mini game puzzle just to get the right to end the turn. The real player
I am really hoping they make it so that when you change the races difficulty/intelligence rating you can then go in and see the corresponding effect that the change has on those sliders (thier bonus tax rates/abilities)
You could probably just sue for peace the next turn like you can with alliances, which would be kinda cheesy or does it force you to stay in the war as long as the Altarians do? This is another super ability that I rather like. It ads another something different to the game and actually makes you feel that each race is somewhat distinct. Not everything has to have some beleivable backstory to it. There is so much stuff in the game already that is unbeleivable if you actually sat down
I noticed the 'Enable CPU Intensive Algorythms(sp?)' option has been taken out. However when you click edit when selecting opponents there is an option for CPU usage for each race. My question is setting this option to 'Maximum' the same effect as the old option? It seems that I would have to go into each race and change this slider. Also there are sliders for Financial Resources(Taxes) and Natural Abilities(What the hell does this one do?) I thought these used to be tied to the dif
I for one am against any concessions made simply for the sake of new players, I've seen way too many games ruined by being 'dumbed down for the newbs'. I like the Yor ability the way it is, god forbid you may actually have to adapt your attack plan for a single opponent... You know you can also change/disable the super ability for any race? or just dont select Yor as an opponent. To me the Yor ability is no more unbalanced than the single turn factories, first strike, or super
You can create multiple power stations on the same planet, Power stations are supposed to be max one per planet I believe.
As a player of Gigantic maps, I second this wonderful idea One issue that people may have however; how would it handle the case where you may have the possibility to upgrade more then one level at a time? (say your mines are level 1 but you have already researched level 3 or 4). Would you have it upgrade each in turn to level 2 then go back and do them all to level 3 then 4, or have it upgrade t
Edit: Hurrah! I found the hidden edit button...
Check out this Arcean 'Scout Ship' there are actually two of them roaming around my space here's a pic of one: The graphic shows it has lasers but it doesnt - I blew one up... just to be sure... poser Debug Message: Version beta 1 build 1 last updated on: Wed Nov 15 18:42:55 2
I so far in my current game have seen two types of generators (didnt research, the AI trades these techs for cheap...) one that adds 10% and one that adds 20%, how high do they go? For the 10% bonus to be more benificial than another factory, you would have to already have more than 10 factories. For the 20% bonus it would be more than 5 factories. This of course assumes that none of the existing factories is on a bonus tile... and there aren't any wierd diminishing
I was so kind to write my opinion. LOL, thanks ever so much. No matter what your native tongue is, it still has "asshole" written all over it. QFT This guy rubs me all wrong... <br/
The your get +100% loyalty bonus, does that make them impossible to flip through cultural influence? In my current game im trying to flip some worlds through influence befor i start any real wars (Ive never even bothered with influence before) Ive been setting up influence bases/adding modules and have researched all the influence techs, ive flipped several thalan worlds but the most ive managed to do to the yor is to get a lil red unhappy face. Will they eventually flip, do i need
For crying out loud Stardock, from a (a. loyal customer. b. disappointed gamer. c. Canadian.) lol Canadians With all their beady little eyes And flapping heads so full of lies
so what has actually changed as far as the intelligence/difficulty levels of the AI? Specifically is 'Tough' still the highest level without the AI getting unnatural bonuses? Has the AI actually been made smarter at any of these levels or are they just adding more levels of 'cheater' AI?
xardas, you should be banned for posting those links.
Are minors really not supposed to be able to invade? The last game I played the Dark Yor got all uppitty, declared war on me, then took one of my colonies (I had colonized a planet in thier same star system). It took my by surprise I had been basically ignoring them up till then I thought they would be a non threat deep behind my lines.
i wouldnt mind getting in on beta but i wouldnt pay for prodcut thats not finnished. The beta is not a finished product. You would not be paying for the beta, you would be paying for the eventual final release of the expansion and the devs are throwing in early access to the beta. If you play GC2 you know how much it kicks ass. You al
IE the ctrl + N issue, or the CTD when retiring on first turn LOL Not something ever envisioned in testing. Not being rude to the person who found it (thanks ) but who in their right mind retires on the first turn?? Hehe reading that reminded me of the kid from the movie Warlock: Hey, you can't punt on first down. No one punts on fir
I'm sure there many players (me included that like to test a game, either with a demo or by borrowing a game from friends) and the players who already own GC2 are very likly to buy the expansion if they like what they see. This is exactly the type of player that does not belong in a beta. A beta is not a 'demo' or a 'free trial'. It is a
