Intensive CPU Algorthms and Opponent Customization

I noticed the 'Enable CPU Intensive Algorythms(sp?)' option has been taken out. However when you click edit when selecting opponents there is an option for CPU usage for each race. My question is setting this option to 'Maximum' the same effect as the old option? It seems that I would have to go into each race and change this slider.

Also there are sliders for Financial Resources(Taxes) and Natural Abilities(What the hell does this one do?) I thought these used to be tied to the difficulty setting of the AI but changing the AI difficulty doesnt seem to effect these sliders.

Also the 5 points they are given dont seem to be spent except for races that I had played previously. Does the AI spend these points when the game starts or are they simply wasted?

The aggression slider defaults to the middle for all races, shouldnt some races (like Drengin/Korath) be naturally more/less agressive?

Yep, I believe the CPU Usage feature is indeed the equivalent of that checkbox.

Natural Abilities(What the hell does this one do?)

Natural Abilities I believe will give them bonuses to (all?) stats such as Defense and the like over the player. The middle of the slider gives no bonuses.

I thought these used to be tied to the difficulty setting of the AI but changing the AI difficulty doesnt seem to effect these sliders.

This is intentional. Difficulty is separated, mostly, into Intelligence and "AI Cheats". Those two sliders are for adjusting that particular AI's "Cheats". I think eventually these two sliders will adjusted when you choose a difficulty over Tough, but I dunno.

No idea, but I always spend them for the AI, just to be safe.

Each AI has its own little customized script (call it a "personality", if you want) that influences their decisions as well as these sliders. So... its likely that Drengin would be naturally more aggressive than a race with an equal Aggression slider setting.

Of course, from the description of the slider, it seems to only deal with the "expansion of their empire", whatever that means.

Darn! Because now I cannot change CPU usage for my opponents since I always use "Randomize Opponents" option. Guess they will tweak the new screen in upcoming beta versions.

You can still do that since I'm quite sure that the "Randomize Opponents" option uses the races to the right and all changes that you do to them are saved.

So you simply choose all the AI:s and max their CPU usage and then hit randomize.

I am really hoping they make it so that when you change the races difficulty/intelligence rating you can then go in and see the corresponding effect that the change has on those sliders (thier bonus tax rates/abilities)

Is there a way to clear all customizations from civs?

I mean other than deleteting the custom race files from folder: My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar

If not there really should be one in the game.
