In most of my games my civ is always in the final spectrum of evilness (Lord Vader is a n00b near me ) and I have no problems making these foolish other civs beame my allies trough military might and some glass beads every now and then. As sometimes you'll gain huge bonuses by choosing the evil way (48% production bonus in a 20+planet for example) I

Engines are also important to travel faster. In a gigantic map even a ship with 40 pc/wk takes a lot of turns to cross the galaxy. Doing that at 3 pc/wk is just maddening.
Did you tried all save files? There are the "auto save" and the "previous auto save" besides any other you named yourself. Pressing the quicksaving there is even a fourth one name "quicksave". It would be hard to get them all corrupted.
The Dark Yor are fine too. Who wouldn't want little, cute, really evil robotic pets?
Not a bad idea.
I think that sometimes the AI surrender too soon. In my last game (normal setting) the Drath Legion was on par or just a bit behind in military and economy and still owning a good number of planets. But they surrendered to the Terrans anyway. Because of that I had to start a war with them. And that brings me to another topic: Military rating. Terran military rating was absurdly above mine in the timeline. I thought it was suicidal to start
I don't pay much attention for text in games but even I spoted various typos. Considering that they're extremely easy to fix we just have to point them to get them corrected in future updates.
Some things I would like to see changed: 1) When I select a ship in a stacked pile of ships and I move it the focus stays with the pile of ships not the ship I just moved to some place. I think the focus have to go to the moved ship. 2) After moving a ship with "no destination" the game focus automatically in the next ship with "no destination" or other ship at random. I'd like to see the focus staying with the ship I moved and ex
I remember that Sony CD malware debacle. A huge company brought to its knees after a single guy started a fire on the net about it. I don't even care about PC gaming anymore. Quake IV bombed. HL2 was more of a tech demo than a game, impressive but soul-lacking. CIV4 < CIV3. After buying GalCiv2 the only games I care about this year are Oblivion, S
The planets needs a much bigger sensor radius too.
Simply put Starforce guys are criminals. This behavior of "do what I want or else..." is pure Mafia style. What they did, posting a link to pirated software, is a crime in most of the world (don't know about Russia. Seems that there, like China, everything is valid) Seeing companies like Ubisoft making deals with these kind of gangs doesn't send a very positive message about their corporate ethics...
Great! FS and FS2 are still two of my favorite games.
I'm not stupid. I'll not pay US$ 50 to put a piece of malware in my computer. This Starforce virus is the dumbest thing that happened to gaming in recent years. It's no surprise this is used because of the retard suits employed the "big" publishers. I'll never buy a game using it because I don't want my PC to become infested and because I'll never give my money to a company that treats its customers as criminals. Interesting that list of gam
If GC2 is the true heir to MOO2 what about making a true heir to Freespace 2 as well?
I would like to have the option of asking a civ to surrender to me. It seems silly to be unable to.
I tried to setup the Snathi against the Arceans to no avail. I gave them the most powerful ship of the galaxy and they didn't used it.
Tycho from Penny-Arcade Link posted about the ship design of galciv2 yesterday. He talks about the game every now and then. The funny thing for me is that I only discovered about the game when he posted a link to the Humans-Drengin game example some months ago. I liked it and promptly preordered the game. I wonder how many persons discovered the game that way.
Let's define POWER as a matter of population, military and economy: a) IF surrendering to my most hated ENEMY will make them much more powerful than he already is AND b) IF surrendering to my closest ALLY will make him get more powerful than my most hated enemy or at least it will make him get closer to him in POWER, THEN surrender to closest ALLY. c) IF NOT try calculating for second closest ALLY. I think that would make more sense. Let's see the WWII
Worse, you get tons and tons of ships from other game sessions you played before. It's get unmanageable after some time.
Not very smart eh, Jeremy? Big DOWNLOADS button at the left side of the site...
Frogboy: Dude, you need to calm down! If every time a customer loses his patience (because computers have this magical ability of making people really mad) and says the game is buggy you ask him to return the game, SD will go bankrupt soon. Thankfully I changed my mind when you suggested that to me and now I'm enjoying the game.
Don't get me started on EVE online. I wanted to play that mess but it was impossible. I never saw a game as buggy as that one. Why don't you try reformating the PC? Nine of ten times it is Windows fault to be unable to handle your apps and games. Besides it eliminates all the junk that PCs get over time.
My game had two CTDs and one Freeze in about one week and a half of gaming. Considering that I was playing for hours and hours straigth and my OS is that Windows worthless crap, I consider it normal for a recently released game. Besides that the game needs polish in some points of the UI and economy/trade but that will came with time and updates.
They are cash/tech cows. Unless the galaxy is small the advantage of having more people to sell stuff is bigger than the one of just conquering another planet.
To me the biggest problem is that all races get the same techs and they end up being a homogenous pool. Making the tech trade harder would be better.
