All tests on tiny maps. I will try to see what happens in different settings specially bigger maps during the week.

Very good testing. I hope these issues get adressed as quickly as possible.
And people fear the Drengin. Kill all Altarians I say!
Played another game. Same settings but this time everyone was set as allies to me and alliance victory turned off. None of the three AIs broke the alliance or declared war and I was trading techs and doing well in economics until being culturally defeated by the Terrans. Seems the way to not have a war against another civ is to ally with them from the start. If the AIs are supposed to play like human players in a multiplayer game, as said i
I was playing in a tiny galaxy in suicidal mode (just messing around) as the Yor. I was obviously lagging behind in military and tech but doing OK in economics when all three other civs declared war (Altarians, Humans and Torian). All right, I thought, they all hate the "evil" Yor. But wait, they all started the war at the same time without having any relations beside trade? hmmm... So I started a new game (same setting: Tiny, Suicidal) as
I noticed this. The AI rarely uses the bonus tiles.

One thing I do is right before you click turn zoom back in to on of the default views. Or even zoom in on empty space. And the turns will go buy alot better. That's exactly what I discovered today. Zooming in in empty spaces speed up things considerably.
Gigantic maps get slower in my system but far from unplayable. And it only happens from mid to end games, with almost all planets colonized and loads of fleets flying everywhere.
D'oh, double post.
Looks great CorbieKitaal! Like something that Skynet would create for a terminator movie.
Copy protection will kill gaming some day.
Running SDC at this exact moment and no SD process runing in the tray bar or in the task manager besides SDC. I say that your story, sir, is a lie!
Stupid topic title. Man if you don't know what a spyware really is you are just a complete computer illiterate... Ever heard of taskbar applications? Go download kaaza to see what spywares really are and what they will do to your PC.
About autosurvey, sometimes my scouts turn off the autosurvey mode while there is still anomalies in the map. Sometimes it happens when there is a anomaly right at its side.
Congrats! I hadn't heard about this game prior to Penny Arcade mentioning it on their front page on January 23rd. I read your story about the Human/Drengin war and decided that this was a game I must own. Of course, I shared that story with my 4x playing friends, and I know 3 of them have the game now. Yay internet! Same here. As I learned of
Great Design man! Gundam like robots dukin it out in space.
Maybe they just upgraded your design to one of them.
Mr. frogboy I'd like to point that the topic "download woes" has loads of people waiting for an answer of the devs about why the SDC software doesn't resume downloads or fails to extract the files. Last time a dev answered there was ages ago. People not being able to get the game seems much more serious to me than ingame bugs that will be solved sooner or later. I requested a refund as you suggested in a recent topic of mine because of this. After some encouragement by some very nice

CariElf, I tried the servers at Chicago, California and 4. My latest SDC build is 117, version 2.29a. I managed to download the Multimedia package after some tries but it stopped there. The error log was always 19 - Connection closed by the server and 1 - Extraction error. for some reason the download just keep restarting over and over again My biggest frustration is that I managed to download much bigger files in the past. I think I'll just follow the advice from Citizen T
Hello again, Adragal. First, have you checked this thread: Link It has useful tips for trying different servers and answers some common issues. As with all things computer, it does help to be as specific as possible as to error messages and such. Have you tried the download again today? I know yesterday would have been quite busy. M
Having issues since Preloading week. Strange the support not having records of my emails since I sent them and I did not receive any error messages. Most of my posts where located in the now unstickied woes posts and in posts of people with similar problems. My problem is quite simple: the download did not resume after some server hiccup. It's damn frustrating to download a monster file of 551MB to 76% and lost it all and having it start from beginning over and over again.
Well, after having all my forum posts and requests for help since the last week simply ignored by Stardock while some other people get two or even three devs helping them (maybe sucking it up helps but that's not for me) I'll just ask for a refund from the sales dept. and forget this whole thing. I think I was expecting too much from what I thought to be a much better game company.
I don't know if it is possible but can you Stardock people make smaller packages (100 MB) of the Movies and Tutorials. It would help people with crappy connections and avoid people taxing the servers because their 551 MB downloads keeps failing and starting again!
