A quick heads up to devs! I have just installed DA, but when I launch the game from file "DALaunch.exe" I get the launcher screen with only option to Install the game even if the game is installed and ok in stardock central. When I run the "GC2DarkAvatar.exe" file the game boots up normally. A small thing, but can cause confusion to some.

I have been waiting UFO:AL like a rising moon, that games demo really convinced me that Altar is getting better with is UFO series. I dunno exactly is it RTS or TBS. It has kinda system like Defcon, you can speed up time, slow it down or Pause fully. DA seems to building up nicely. I really enjoyed the Beta and looking forward to seeing all the new gfx and AI boosts the final version will bring. The beta DA experience has been 80% pure fun and love most of the enchantments, but with good there are also few bad ones. 1. No pictures of land combat? In my opinion GC2 could use alot of this kinda UI tweaking. The information could be distributed much more easily with tweaks like these, good stuff. Instead of pumping more and more features I really hope SD realises that before they add stuff, they should make the UI more "people" friendly.

Something like this would be really welcome, never thought about this one myself. I hope UI got all the loving it needs in final or gets in updates to come. GC2 UI sure had issues, but I could live with them. Now with all the added stuff coming with DA, those UI quirks are starting to catch my eye even more. I love a game with alots of options but not too informative/illogical UI can do alot to hinder that enthusiasm. Like some said, diplomacy screen has been quite bad UI wise

Actually GC2 is littered with these kinds of illogical little quirks. No doubt its because the team is pumping out new features and they have limited human resources. But I would like all these little annoyances dealt with before SD starts implementing new features with patches. To sum it up: SD please spend as much time as needed to fix these minor quirks before start implementing new stuff. I love the new features ofcourse, but some of these illogical quirks make the whole product fee

Glad to see somebody else take intrest in UI also! I have been rather dissapointed by the lack of intrest in UI development by these forums. People do seem to be rather excited in discussing balancing issues and other features, but there are hardly any threads about UI. The only UI enchantment I see in DA betas is the thing where you can choose which direction you can launch ships from orbit. 1. Combat enchantments. More complex ground combat for sure and maybe formations on ship combat. 2. More weapon techs, just plain old rocket/laser/mass driver are getting boring as hell. Well something needs to be doned to Espionage system IMHO. I did have a little voice in back of my head whispering that checking out planets without actually planting spies was too easy. I do not know which way of handling this problem would be the best as I think the whole Espionage system at its current state is way too shallow. The whole espionage scheme can be wrapped up in the following phrase, disable building, nullify another spy. This really does not get me too excited

I basicly love everything DA is bringing to the table but I do have gripes about some of the new features or features that did not get implemented. 1. Land Combat is way too shallow for my taste. I was hoping for total overhaul of this part of the game. 2. While espionage is fun and all but it too feels bit shallow. There is not enought stuff to do with them. I like most of your suggestions, hopefully devs read this. I would like to add one more thing to tech trading annoyance list. AI seems to throw all their techs for treaties, sometimes you get ridicilous amount of techs for trade/research treaties.

I guess people are not bringing balancing stuff up that much anymore. They have all been discussed in lenght after the latest beta was released. Things that I remember are these: 1. Mega events need some balancing work. How often and when they happend etc. Personally mega events seem to be ok to me, however I have not played huge amount of games with latest beta. 2.
