Well you kinda can ask for money, just ask it in diplomacy screen and give nothing to the opposite party. But I know what you mean, I too would love to tell AI all kinds of things. Most importantly "get your ships away from my zone of control"

Gah I too yarn for a new beta for these particular reasons. It seems that all the AI:s are good in building up their economy and planets, but its like their military thinking has been thrown out of the window Great hopes for next beta, Iam assuming we get one before the final release.
Good find on the speed issue, I did not even realize there was a problem like this. Open beta is definetly a good thing Also I too wonder whats the logic with +10 speed with techs giving +1 speed. I hope these get polished away before DA final. These kinda obvious writing flaws give bad impression on otherwisely great game. Not because really cripple the game, but because as a player I sometimes
Indeed it does. I wish high resolution planet surface maps would be included in DA final. Doubtful they will, but would be nice suprise
Well something needs to be doned, as for me, there seems to be no great consequences no matter which ethical choice I pick. Its more like a little mini game to distract you from the full game, I wish it had bigger impact. Atleast the choices should be more sincere, IE. Good choice "save people" Evil choice "kill 1 billion people, gain 1000BC" or something like that. Gaining 200bc from evil ethical choise can hardly be called beneficial <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smil
Not a bad idea at all. Spy system screams for something like this! And while your at it SD, I really would like to know, which of the AI players are spying me. New espionage system is nice, but shallow, there is no point denying that in my mind.
I do not think the change list ever got released. Or I just missed it too.
I suspect this is something hard to code or something. Maybe not hard to code the exact event but how the AI would react to it, would it remember this "threat" you sended him etc. With just about every strategy game out there, players have wanted diplomacy options like "move your troops away" etc. But atleast I do not know any game which has such options.
Holy heck! I thought there could be only one mega event in a single game. I have had in my every game a single mega event and no more. Perhaps this is due to my game setup, which is always a medium map so games tend to be short. I really do hope SD can pull mega events off and make them balanced. As they are, mega events tend to criple AI and give human player an easy victory. Frogboy is going to have his hands full this january <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s
I never build SB defences/offences either. Too much work for nothing in the late game Maybe the SB defence/offence values should be increased signicantly? @Supreme Shogun I used constructor rally points also some time but it's still too much micromanagement to me, consider me lazy.
Pirates mega event is ok in my book, it does what a mega even shoud which is totally tilts the balance of the game. Now my only problem is that (atleast in current beta) the human player is the only one actively fighting the pirates. I have had couple of these Pirates events and they have killed everything in their path. But I have always managed to wipe them out eventually and win the game. So basicly Iam echoing some of the writers here. I only hope the devs change this mega
Yeah this definetly needs some tweaking/balancing. SD did say that they are doing alot of game playing during this last month before DA comes out. I hope the next beta tweaks things for the better.
In my games I never have time to think if a planet is good or bad. Just have to colony rush everything in the beginning before AI snags them all. Hazardous enviroments brought something new in the table, but did not really change my colony rushing tactic abit Maybe making these techs even more costly or something would help. Also AI seems to be valuing these enviroment techs above all. S
Shuffling personalities would be nice. Good idea!
WWW Link First one on that link.
Added couple new items and did couple more photoshop images of improvement ideas.
I was just thinking about the Star Base defense problem and suddently it hit me. Should star bases upgrade their defences automaticly when you research the techs? Maybe this has been suggested before, but I think everybody can agree, that later on the game SB defenses are pretty much useless. If they would get the defences/offences immidiately after your research the techs, they would last longer to the game?
I think civ4 had something like this and it worked well. Iam just afraid that with DA new planet icons (agents, hazardous enviroments) the planets area is pretty full of icons alrdy. Maybe putting all the icons on a box above the planet could be a solution for this?
Aha! I knew there was something wrong with the ship battles, just could not put my finger to what it was. Good find, lets hope there is new beta next week that fixes this
I actually was excited about this spy event. It completely halted my main enemy Yor and gave me time to build up my defenses. Yor had spammed the galaxy with colony ships and controlled over 50% of habitable worlds. Its good that mega events actually bite the biggest nation and gives the weaker a chance. Well atleast this mega event did in my current game
I have experienced those weird rebellion icons on ships too. I have reported this to [email protected] and hopefully they are looking into this. One other thing that I think is a bug. When your ally attacks another civ the screen pops up which says "We are going to help you with your war etc". This happens even if the player is not in war with anybody.
I do actually watch land combat since they dont take too much time. My point is that all the other graphics in GC2 are really nice but the land combat looks terrible. We have eye watering ship graphics and explosion but the land combats look like something a 10y old kid could draw. They jump up in a bad way, in my mind. I would like to turn the question around. How much of the time do people play with zoomed in graphics? They arent so relevant to the game either since most of t
Yeah I second these ideas. There are several things bad in current land combat gfx. First of all its pretty damn ugly Secondly when the tanks etc explode its like the whole animation is fast forwarder! I wrote long time ago that there should be different graphics for different invasion tactics. As chazzie wrote, show me gas on the screen when I gas the planet <img src="http://images.st
I always play on all civs @ Tough difficulty.
Some new race logos and portrait pictures would be nice too. Not too hard to add them manually, but some people are lazy
