Yea, I remember the first time I was invaded by the Dread Lords. I noticed they had like 10 guys versus my entire planet, and they slaughtered 3/4 of my population on that planet. I was like WTF!! 10 GUYS DID THAT!?? IM SCREWED!

Actually, I have noticed that when I play the original (dont have DA or TA) I do get way better loot when exploring anomalies. When I dont invest into my luck ability I tend to get really low BCs from them. But when I do use the luck ability it really helps out in the early game when anomalies are more common because I'll be picking up 2,500 BC like every few turns almost. Sometimes maybe a little less, like around 700, but even still that helps out. Also get better bonuses from anomal
This is my first time posting on these forums in a while, and my video card has been fried for a couple months now so I haven't been able to play the game. But I played it quite a bit back when GalCiv 2 first came out and I remember specifically how the AI absolutely never broke an alliance. I never went for the Diplomatic Victory because it was way too easy and not as fun, but my strategy was to ally with the civ who has the highest military rating so that I ensured my survival in the
Capitol idea! I'd love to see a feature like this in the game. Make things more interesting. I could also see this feature being used to ambush an opponent. Like "I need you to send x amount of your best ships to y planet for protection" and then send transports and a fleet of escourts to invade their key worlds while their best ships are on their way to your planet... where they will be outnumbered more than 2 to 1 in a surprise ambush. The other races should recognize this ki
What the hell is a spore ship, what does it do, and how can it be used strategically?
I totally agree with you
heres another theory that is bugging me: Comets seeding life on earth. So the scientists have realised that the chance of life starting on earth without help is so small that they came up with this wonderfully amazing theory. Er, mr scientist: where did the life that is hitching a ride on the comet come from? Oh it came from another part of the universe where the condition
I like your idea. I like it a lot
If they dont put this in, I will be highly dissapointed. Some brilliant ideas right here that would spice the game up a lot.
The funniest thing just happened to me on GC2. I forgot to get a screenshot, but I go to the diplomacy screen to speak with my ally, the Drengin, and Kona greets me with... "You complete me."
if thats a cheap tactic and u feel no satisfaction from doing that then dont use it, the devs will c this and will adjust the values of the spin control center accoringly so that this cheap a tactic wont work Why adjust the values when you can adjust the AI with some lines of code to make it actually put two and two together. Lets say if a par
I agree with the OP 100% haha.. he said "fickle"
.... you should be a marketing advisor of some sort
I have also noticed this, but you know what they say: When life hands you lemons, complain about it untill it turns into lemonaid! Oh, and there is a serious lack of grammar and correct spelling in these forums. Please pay more attention in English class, people!
BRILLIANT!
No, its a mathmatical fact in the GC2 universe. It was noticed shortly after release. I forgot the exact equations, but yea, gc2 citizens consume more food in one day that, by today's standards, would essentially solve world hunger as we know it.
Mine are (in no particular order): A new race, with their own new styles of hulls and parts. Map Editor feature (like the AP expansion for gc1) The Army Raising feature Brad mentioned in a journal A threat option in the diplomacy system (Pay me 1000 bc for this new Influence base you set up outside my star system or be destoyed ) To play as the Dread Lords
seconded on that one
I agree. The key to a good Navy is to have ships that specialize, and with this sort of combat system that you are proposing that would definately create more incentive to creat a Navy that is more varied, tacticle, and organized.
I have the same problem
I always use tiny ships as "sensor drones". 12 parsect sensor range and extended life support system. Like the OP said, I like to make sure they have state of the art engines so that they can outrun any enemy. I'd say, throughout all of my military campaigns I lost maybe one or two sensor drones, but that was because I had that stationed too close to a hostile planet and they were taken out in a hit-and-run mission from the planets orbital fleet.
When trying to dominate another civilization culturally, there seems to be a problem. I was playing a custom Civ in my last game, the Terran Alliance was my neighbores. I built a seriesof influence bases throughout their star systems and by the summer of 2229 the Humans were so obsessed with my civilizations that a chain of rebellions throughout their empire brought most of their planets under my control. BY July, 2229, Mars was the last Terran controlled planet in the galaxy. Less th
Using a custom race, I decided to aim for a culture victory and my neighbores, the Terran Alliance, finally give up their last and only planet, Mars, to me because they feel I am culturally superior. Last planet goes down, so does game. Just letting ya know you should look into it
Yes I already made a thread about this.
Yea I dont think this is an issue of range. Infact, I even had a small fleet of War Gods (destroyer class, my creation) stationed just a few parsecs away from their planet (fighting off the vulturous Korx) and I gave it to the Paulos and it had the same problem. This bug doesnt seem to apply to any major civs. If anyone else has this problem, you should post and let us know.
