That's rather interesting, thanks!

Not exactly. It's a percentile increase, as far as I can recall. Sizemod of 5 means the object's size is further modified by 5% of the ship's room, before miniaturization.
So I have a lot of free time on my hands, and I also have StarCraft II. I want to make a Terran Dominion race, complete with their tech tree, buildings, ship designs and the like. I have a lot of stuff on my mind already, but I need your help filling up all the gaps. So, for starters, tech tree. The extremely long, long, long techlines will be reduced greatly. Their total cost will, however, be kept. This is because I want to get as much of the Dominion into this with as little filler
Now I know. I know for sure. Brad, you are evil. First you announce it for the holidays. I get all worked up over it. Then you delay it. And again. And now, just as the game was supposed to hit the internet, you delay it again. And give us screenshots. Screenshots of the most evil, scrumptious variety. Only to torment us further. You are evil.
A huge artificial island a few hundred miles off the coast of New York, featuring a massive self-sufficient technate with somewhere around 12 million inhabitants. Governed entirely by the elite of the society, who arrived at their posts through an objective system of meritocratic judgement, and it would be somewhat xenophobic, not out of fear but out of need; there would be no need for outside trade if the huge arcology provided everything the inhabitants needed.
Anyone watch Idiocracy? That movie is rife with quotes and scenes that would fit well into negative creativity.
It winz, I agree.
Not gonna work. I tried to make several new one-only modules when I was trying to make my mod, and nothing worked. I tried to make a new Power Generation technology(power core modules, give more space on a ship), but couldn't make the limit work.
This is awesomeness incarnate. Seriously. I've read thousands of books, RPs, fictional diaries and whatnot, and I have to say this one shines in a fairly large ocean of mediocrity. Carry on.
I go mad over it, sometimes spending hours building my latest, greatest asset to the ever growing navy. I even bother with the little bling things like antennas, lights, banners and such...
They need +40% HP unique ability. Slow speed can work if they're shown as careful, deliberate and unstoppable. Imagine two spiders. One is a big-ass tarantula, the other a much smaller taranta. Both can kill you. The tarantula is slow as hell, the taranta is not. Which one scares you more? :P BTW, i'm arachnophobic. Writing that up gave me goosebumps and cold sweat.
I was under the impression that the less habitable planets there are, the precursor stuff appears more often.
The Fleet Support(or whatever they're called) upgrades come as close to carriers as one can expect.
Yep. 15. That's why sensors become worthless once you have the Eye. The Eye must be nerfed!
I think Tourism and Trade income should be scaled based on the size of the galaxy. On Huge and up, Tourism alone can support your entire empire, whereas on anything below it is just a bonus. I think Trade should have a 30% bonus for every map size smaller than Immense, and Tourism should have a 50% bonus for every map size smaller than Immense. The bonus is cumulative, 30/50 for Gigantic, 60/100 for Huge etc.
With Dark Avatar, the only reason why I'd want to play CIV(even with the exps, which I have) is if I want to conquer the universe with a race I developed since the stone age.
Isn't that in TA only?
No.
Priceless :D
I can't recall the exact price of buying an Ind Sec, but I do know they are modified by the Interest Rate(IIRC, it's different from the premade races and the custom race). But I'm just guessing here. The important thing is, Hive's pretty damn powerful.
I prefer Large(anything bigger lags out like hell after a year or two), common planets on occasional or common stars randomly spread, abundant anomalies and asteroids, fast tech, sometimes very fast, against four, five or six AIs and none, one or two minors. In the last few games, I disabled Mega Events and Tech Trading, as well as minors, because I felt they gave me too much of an advantage(except for Mega Events, some of those are just a frustration). I can play anything, really, but my fa
Neutral all the way. +Morale, +Research, +Trade is all good. I'd say Good is the Weakest and Evil is the strongest, but I dislike playing Evil too often. I indulge myself every now and then, but I mostly play Neutral and demonstrate to the rest of the galaxy how my boomstick vaporizes things on a quantum level while they're still chucking chemically-powered missiles at each other.
What I'd really like, is for the ability to design the starbases in the shipyard. Let them have their own special parts system(if possible), and for example when I design a Military Starbase with a Warp Accelerator, three Rail Cannons and a Sniper Drone module, I get to choose which of those modules I want to install when I bring a constructor to a new Military Starbase. That, and it would make the Drengin able to design starbases on rocks, which would be awesome and orky.
If Galactic Civilizations were to mate with [link="http://www.wyrdysm.com"]Battleships Forever[/link] and have an offspring, that game would own the world. Seriously, it would be like Galaxy: Total War!
Me wants carriers. What excites me is the feature list of TotA, with those modules that increase speed, logistics etc of ships in a fleet. Carriers ahoy! But that still doesn't take care of the fact that, for cost, larger ships are better than smaller ones.
