Well, I have only spent about 2-3 hours with the newest version of GalCiv2 and I must congratulate the developers on an amazing job. This game gets better and better with every update and I can tell you that it is on the right track for another success.
BUGS:
While playing the game I have come across some bugs that I feel would be appreciated by the developers if presented. I know that there must be a ton of other bugs out there, but these are the ones that I have come across in this version.
1. When clicking on the "Population" button, it does not allow for the population to be re-displayed on the minimap until the game is restarted.
2. Alien ships are controllable by human player. Even those orbitting their planets.
3. Scrolling does not function on the "Available Projects" list of the Planet Window when clicking on the down arrow. Up arrow works fine.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Well, I have played this version enough to suggest some things in which I believe would make the game better. As I have been playing GalCiv2 mostly on my laptop, I believe that I can bring some good things to be considered for laptop customers that might not have access to a mouse.
1. I know that this is probably going to be implemented, but I was wondering if it could be hurried. The right mouse button should allow the screen to be "grabbed" for easier navigation. It is really annoying having to take the cursor to the edge of the screen when you're using a touchpad.
2. The research categories should "remember" the scroll position so that you don'[t have to scroll to the right when looking through your research options for each category. This really gets frustrating; especially when using a touchpad.
Well, this is all I have to say so far. I will be sure to post more bugs/recommendations as I spend more time with the game.
I encourage other people to all post some of their bugs/recommendations about this version in order to help the developers out.
