What does it do? Where to build?

Hello, as a newbie here, I hope my questions haven't been asked before...

I want to know, what exactly is the purpose of Yor Collective's Research Matrix?

Since it's a one-per-planet building, does it provide like a percentage boost to other research buildings? Because the planet interface only said that it produces 12 tp/week, but no percentage boost...

Or, have I misunderstood its purpose? Because the description "... integrates research into planet's capital" (or something to that effect) is totally opaque for me...

Another question: Suppose I have a tile with 300% research bonus and another tile with 100% research bonus (plus of course a lot of tiles without bonus), where should I build the Research Matrix?

No, just the increase to research production.

Or, have I misunderstood its purpose? Because the description "... integrates research into planet's capital" (or something to that effect) is totally opaque for me...

That's understandable. Some of the descriptions can be quite unclear, if not outright contradictory.

Another question: Suppose I have a tile with 300% research bonus and another tile with 100% research bonus (plus of course a lot of tiles without bonus), where should I build the Research Matrix?

I'd build it on the 300% tile until I can replace it with something better, like the Invention Matrix.

So, if I already have researched the Research Center, the Research Matrix is practically worthless, since the Research Center can be upgraded multiple times. Am I right?

Durn... I thought the RM actually gave something better...

Sort of. The Research Center can be upgraded, and you can build as many of them as you want. However, the Research Matrix is both cheaper to build and to maintain. Plus, its research-output is slightly higher. So it still has its uses. Especially on planets where you either can't, or don't want to, build many research improvements.
