Game Crash When Using Custom Tech Tree

Hi all,

I've just recently started using the tech tree editor to play around with techs.  I created a custom tech tree (basically the same as the Terran tech tree with a few additional techs) and when I set my custom race to use it and try to load a new game, the game crashes.  I've tried using, say, just the Terran tech tree with the custom race and the game loads fine.

Any ideas how to fix this?  Thanks.

Actually, never mind.  I think the custom race got corrupted somehow because I deleted it and recreated it using the custom tech tree and it works fine now.

I'm having the same problem, but deleting the custom races and remaking them hasn't worked.  I've even made an exact copy of the minor race tech tree and gave it a different ID and name and tested it and the game crashes, but I can still load with the original minor race tech tree.  If ya got any idea what might be wrong, someone please give me a heads up, I've tried about everything I can think of. Thanks in advance.

If a custom tech tree doesn't work no matter what, make sure it doesn't have any syntax errors and that some prereqs didn't get rewritten in the wrong order in the file.

I thought that originally as well, that's why I made a copy of the original minor race's tech tree and tried to use that, but the game still crashes when that's used as well, however, the original minor races tech tree still works though.  I thought maybe something may have gotten corrupted along the way with some of the files, but i've reset all the files to defaults, and cleared the cache, but it still is having problems for some reason.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Apparently, the tech editor was messed up, and kept setting techs I edited to either default, or erased fields.  I reinstalled it, and it works fine now.  I don't know what I did to mess up the tech editor, but if I find out, I'll post in case someone else has the same problem.
