Add an AI component size slider!

At the moment when the AI designs its ships it slaps components on at the default size.

This means that some of the cool ship templates that you make for them are wasted 'cause you can barely see the extra components you added for all the Laser MkV's taped on.

A component size slider (or even just a size modifier in the race's config file) would mean you could adjust the default size so the AI ships don't look like they've been doing steroids.

Or I guess if you really wanted to get into it, it would be nice to have templates incorporate component size planning. For example if you put life support components on a template, then the first and subsequent life support components added by the AI will be in those locations and at that size.

I think GC2 has pretty much reached the end of its development cycle. I'd be surprised if we see even minor updates. There's been talk of Stardock moving on to GC3, but there's been no mention of when that might happen. Any enhancements like what you've mentioned above won't happen until then.

I would imagine GC3 to be quite a bit different so lots of things people wanted to see in GC2 may not apply. GC3 might just be a more advanced version of GC2, but I put my money on a whole new game. I never played GC1 so I can't say myself, but the difference between GC1 and 2 might be a good scale for the difference we can expect between GC2 and 3.
