I sent the following email (with debug attachment) to Stardock support on November 17th, 2008:
Hi,
After every campaign game I play (Dread Lords), the game crashes to the desktop. It does save my game, though. My user name on Impulse is "baconcow". I have attached my .err file.
I have a couple of other questions and issues:
- In Dread Lords campaign, is it possible to load a previously-made race or do you have to select everything every level
- When I make custom ships in-game and save them, they never show up on the next level; is this normal?
- The game sometimes save "String not Found" for some text portions in-game, such as on a ships details.
Thanks,
Shawn
After receiving a support ticket and told I was in priority, I waited. No response.
I then sent the following email on February 11th, 2009, that has also yet to be responded to:
Hi,
I was told that this would be looked into. I am still having the game crash, OVER and OVER. Each and every time I play it. I have the game fully patched, and I check every day for newer patches with Impulse. I paid $60 + tax for this on the internet from your website and it isn't even working properly. I never received a response and it has been since November 17th.
I received this information in an email, so I know you received my support issue. When I go on the esupport website, using the password and email, it shows up black, as if this has been deleted. This is an issue for me, please help me out. I want to be able to sit down and play one game after the other, without having it crash to desktop on me.
Since the latest patch, I have been playing all campaigns and custom modes through Twilight of the Arnor. The game is having the EXACT same behaviour, crashing to the desktop after campaign modes. I also have the identical "String Not Found" issues, as well. My custom ship question and custom race question still applies. Thank you.

Although I fixed the black screen problem I was having, I am now having an issue of poor sound quality in-game. By this, I mean crackling during gameplay, popping and crackling during the computing of the other civs turns. Both game audio (sound effects) and game music.
Please, if anyone could help me, this would be appreciated. Stardock doesn't seem to want to help me.
Thank you,
Shawn Woods
