Graphic Glitch with "Evil" Robot on New Tech Report Screen

Someone may have already mentioned this somewhere, or it may just be me...   It seems that the center chect piece on the evil robot doesn't move with the rest of the body.  It's the backlit vent or grill that's in the center of his chest.  It stays stationary while the rest of the body moves.  Anyone else seeing this?  Might just be me.  I really never noticed it before.  I'm not sure when it started.

whatever happens, all the news robots are .bik files, that is 100% videos playable with "bink video player" (others probably too)

ho and the actual files are located in : .\GalCiv2\Movies

I never get the 'correct robot' anymore... Playing with 'Not Custom' races, still brings up some random robot everytime. As the terrans in my current game, I think I have the Drath robot... playing as the Alterians last game, I got the Yor robot.. strange, almost funny though.

hu o_O ... isn't the news tech robot  the same for all races except maybe for humans where there is specific bik files ?

maybe you're talking about other races appearance in the diplomacy windows ?

overall there is 6 bik files which are for : evil human, neutral human, good human and evil alien, neutral alien, good alien

and that's all, either "drath" or "yor" should be irrelevant even though evil alien animation "could" be taken for a yor ...

No, I'm talking about the robot. I know the Terran robot does not have red eyes and is not a dark gold color. I have seen the correct Terran robot once before, but it is different from the Alterian robot. I'm not sure if they are all different robots or not, but I know for some reason, the game still throws me a random robot every game.

as I said, it's not random, just depends on your alignment and whether or not your race is terran

and there's not a single terran robot, there is 3 (again depending on alignment)

if you want to verify anything I'm telling here then you can go there to download the bink video player : http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm

and watch the vids independently of the game

Well, how does the game know that I am going to become evil when it first begins? Unless the programmers implemented a psychic subroutine in there somewhere. That is, before I ever make any moral choices influencing my good/neutral/evil choices. The robots do not change during the game, the robot you have initially is the same one I always have for the rest of the game.

It only takes a few turns to research the first tech anyways from the start of a game. Terrans are neutral to start out. I always research a tech before colonizing my first planet (when the moral choices start popping up). The 'evil' looking Terran robot was showing up when I was neutral, as well as when I later was 'leaning evil' and when I 'became evil'.

I've also had the neutral looking robot appear in the beginning of the game for Terrans, which stayed there even when I have become evil.

EDIT: I did look at the bik files for the robot animations and see there are 6, 3 for terrans and 3 for all others.

seems like a bug to me then, since this is not normal behavior

so either it's a program bug, or your install is borked in a way or another. The later would seem more likely given that I find it strange that no one else saw this one. :S (unless you're not updated)

No, im not an updater, no mods... so you're saying that the robot changes during the game if you, say, become evil (terrans go from neutral robot to evil robot)?

It's most likely an install error of some sort.. everything else seems to work fine, but with my campaign missions, it literally skips half of them.. e.g. skipped missions 4,5, and then several others up until the last mission.

Although I did uninstall all versions and reinstall everything when I got ToA... maybe I'll have to look into it.
