The Place Where You Can Work to Create Fantastic Mods

Hello all you gamers out there who are creative enough to create their own Mod, or gamers who want learn about the different Mods out there. This is a thread where you can do just about anything Mod-related. You can talk about cool Mods, ask questions about Mods, or simply update people on how your Mod is coming along.

This thread can be used as a somewhat "general" forum for everything to do with Mods. Even if you don't want to talk about your Mod here, just drop us a reply if you've posted something to do with a Mod elsewhere. You can also offer your help to someone if they are having trouble with a certain Mod or if they just need an extra pair of hands.

I will be providing a list of links to different areas on the forums, so as to save you all the trouble of having to search them yourselves. If you think that there is another cool Mod out there, just drop a reply with the name and I'll add it to the list. Thanks and Best Regards.

bookmarking for my replies.

Silverbeacher and I had discussed a complete overhaul mod designed to tweek many aspects of the game. that fell by the wayside, but in time my interests might be rekindled.

I tried that once, but I had too many other things to do.

 Silverbeacher was to help me with my MV mod but he hasn't done anything so yeah.

If CoSH is actually on that precious but small list (Tks, btw)... you might as well put the X-Worlds thread too, since i consider that DA mod as a **Huge** contribution to this community. Planets, Movies, complete overhaul of the Buildings pool, tech-tree and a whole bunch of new Trade-Goods -- Humanity (three X-Coms) and Aliens (as many as 30 races of hem') fleets & ships comin' up too!

 

General Pants & Kryo stuff for ShipYard designs "attempts" is coming real handy as i have grouped an entire set of Jewels from them specifically customized to optimize somehow my workflow with that task.

 

Which is to say that a lot of great modders gave us many wonderful things... LogicSequence Hi-Res, Foxthree multiple Total Conversions & much more. Without these people help & reference, my own stuff woulda been much harded to do.

@ Zyxpsilon: Thanks for the heads up. Truth be told, I just put down all of the major Mods that were on the first page - I was going to let people like you tell me what others should be on the list. I didn't want to risk putting up a Mod that didn't work or never got finished, or that just plain sucked. I'll start updating my list now - Thank you very much for the reply. Best Regards.

just a notification, The Bringers of Light is currently on hold. It will be resumed after the demo release of New Frontiers.

the High Res Graphics Mod by LogicSequence doesn't appear to be on there.

Thanks for the heads up - just added it to the list now.

NOTICE: Most of the links on the list take you to the Mod's forum site. Usually there is a link to the Mod's Library location somewhere in the forum site. Some of the links on the list are straight from the Mod Library. If anyone thinks that I should add more of the Mod's Library location links to the list, I will be happy to when I find sufficient time. Thanks and Best Regards.

Sole Soul informed me about an overhaul Mod of the DL game by OnlyAnEgg. It's a bit old and supposedly has some glitches, but it looks like the most in depth Mod I've ever seen before, so I added it to the list. If anyone tries it out, let me know what you think - if it's true that there are a bunch of problems with it, I'll take it off the list. Thanks and Best Regards.

Stick to your guns, am i to assume that New Frontiers is beyond individual "projects" such as BoL?

Or that precious development time is something we all wish we had much more of?

It's kinda freaky to witness the integration of MrKorx's Asa custom race to it and yet again, another strange feeling to witness my Logo (Yggdrasil Life-Tree) replaced by someone else's idea of a "better" but abstract gimmick! Mind you, i also gave him some recolored Icons & Queries (dozens of working Hours alone, right there) -- absolutely free, done fast to collaborate. SirNasty really did great planetary artworks for him too, btw.

 

Modders DO have a knack for contribution, by nature, even here.

If you dig even deeper, there's no secret about it that MANY other excellent mods are buried under piles of miscellaneous items. Most of it served me very well as essential reference(s), in fact. Thanks for reminding us how important it is to remain active. But, i'd still need some fixes & Green HardPoints from genuine SD coders!

New Frontiers is not "beyond" individual projects. I made a deal with stefan. Right after the NF demo, TBL starts up again.

@ Zyxpsilon: I realize that there are more awesome Mods - two things have to work for me though. One - I have to find a time where I don't have to worry 'bout my exams. Two - I need to think of a way to make the list more organized. If I just throw all of the Mods into the list, it could get messy. I hope to refine the list and get some new Mods up by the end of the week. Thanks for the reply. Best Regards.

NOTICE: I have finally gotten around to making some list changes. I have added two more list categories in the hopes that this will cut-down on the time it takes to find what you want, and it also helps you know where you are going when you click a certain link.
