You can permanently remove your custom races by deleting the corresponding customracexml files from My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor.

Yeah, I was hoping that you could delete individual races.  I have a couple that I don't want gone and one or two that I WOULD.  Shame too because I like playing the random selection races and the ones I want to delete ALWAYS end up in the mix.

You guys don’t seem to get it, go to your “My Documetns” folder then “My Games” then the version of GC2 you race is on then delete the file for the custom or any save you made for the normal races to delete that and only that race.

And if that is not easy what are you doing with a computer.

And better yet, instead of deleting them, move the file or zip it in place incase oyu want to re-use that race later.

what I ment by easy, was that it could be done from in the game.

15 seconds of clicking and its gone. Next time just before you play GC2, just quickly delete the customrace.xml's that you don't want and when you choose your opponents the other races will not be there.

Hardly a hassle.

FROM IN GAME:

On the Race Creation Screen: Click the LOAD button

Select Race that you want to delete

Hit the DELETE button that is along the bottom (next to Save, Load, and Cancel)

Warning will come up saying "Are you sure you wish to delete this race?"

Click YES

Voila. and In game too.  So no more complaining. Trust me, I just tried it with my "Stupid People" custom race, and it worked. Amazing.

I have done exactly that recently (I had like 10 races) BUT I think they still show up when you set the game for 'random' opponents. I will verify tonight to be sure.

The races may also be created in the metaverse folder if you play that.  Just something to know...

@LedZerggelin: I went and double-checked the folder itself after I hit the Delete button, and the custom race was most definitely gone.

Cool. Thanx for the update. After I got home from work I saw I left two races undeleted I had I really liked of the ten or so I had created. Those are the ones that showed up in my random game.

If you want to add any custom races to a game that you are playing as a "custom race" you can go into the race file [ Your Race.raceconfigxml  ] and edit the race ID number. The game will allow only one of each race in the game, so you will need to decide which race you'd like it to replace and change your race to that ID#.

Example: The dreadlords are race ID#13. In this raceconfigxml the custom race ID is #12. Now the Dreadlords are now a custom race and the same is true for the reverse function. If you change the race ID to #0  (0-11 regular races, 12 custom, 13 Dreadlords) they would be used in the terran slot.

 </DataChecksum>
 <Race Name="Dread Lords">
  <ConfigVersion>27</ConfigVersion>
  <RaceID>12</RaceID>
  <CivType>5</CivType>
  <DisplayName>Dread Lords</DisplayName>
  <Alignment>1</Alignment>
  <ShortEmpireName>Dread Lords</ShortEmpireName>
  <RaceLeader>Lord Dread</RaceLeader>
  <Homeworld>Amalda</Homeworld>
