PROJECT SCRAPPED I've lost my interest in Halo once again, Halo 3's multiplayer pissed me off once again and this mod didn't seem to raise any interest (no matter anymore) and due limited scenario editor and lack of races for sandbox games. I will leave this here, i may return to this in the future.
I'm a Halo fan. I love GalCiv 2. I also like mods (dunno about modding as i've never done that exactly) Thus naturally i want a Halo mod for GalCiv (I propose is the subtitle).
I put all the stuff i mean to add to the mod in this post.

Don't ask when this is ready. I will probably start the work with this after patch 2.0 comes out but i don't know how long this will take, especially if have to work alone.
EDIT I will list people who've agreed to help, no matter how minor their role is. They will get credit in readme in the future. I will also list people who give major ideas that i'll incorporate. Say if you want to stay anonymous. Oh, PM me if you don't want to say things in public.
This mod isn't going to be a TC, it's going to have couple of races, minor races and 2 scenarios, one per side.
FACTIONS
UNSC (replaces Terran Alliance, requires AI personality and super ability changing and of course other stuff too.)
The Covenant (replaces x civilization, again things mentioned above apply here)
I thought i could make Covies by replacing multiple civs with Covie species (Korath->Brutes, Drengin->Elites, Torians (changed to evil/neutral)->Grunts etc.) but this would require a lot work and the mod should be then played as a scenarion and it's anyway complicated so we replace one civ with The Covenant. Another possibility is to make Covie Loyalists and Covie Separatists like in Halo 3 (check the Halopedia) but this something we can do later.
As for Covie homeplanet... The Covenant has multiple races, each has their own homeplanet. I really don't want to use one of them as the Covenant's homeworld. So one question: Is it possible to replace one planet with the High Charity model? Otherwise we'll probably use Sanghelios as thei homeworld, even though i don't like the idea.
Minor Civs
Games with the mod will probably be two player games. But there is minor factions in Halo. Forerunners (their robots), the Heretics from Halo 2 and human rebels (United Rebel Front for example, i think there was more than one rebel faction). I want the Heretics and rebels as minors, as for the Forerunners, i'm not sure. Maybe Forerunners could have Onyx as homeplanet?
VICTORY CONDITIONS AND TERROR STARS
I suggest that games played with this mod (if this is released someday) will not use any of the victory conditions, only conquest. But then this allows you to decide how the war did end... Maybe Covies and humans did ally and trigger the Great Journey togheter?
As for Terror Stars.... They really don't fit to Haloverse unless... We change the model to a Halo ring. Yes, i know Halos don't destroy physically anything, only life, but then GalCiv is a bit humoristic game... And i feel the rings fit in better than death stars. Hmm... Is it possible to change Terror Star's name to Halo? I mean in the files, not just naming the starbase Halo....AI ain't doing that.

Tiny | Shortsword-class bomber | Ok this is a bit problematic. It's according to Halopedia an atmospheric craft (http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Shortsword-class_Bomber) but it looks to me to be capable of spaceflight and thus i'm going to use it as tiny ship for UNSC. It's classified as bomber but i think it could be used as scout ship, let's just fit it with sensors.

Troop Transports
I put TTs to their own section because Halo doesn't have large troop transports like GalCiv. Some UNSC ships (like I Ambers Clad) can hover in atmosphere (how? I think they have reverse engineered Covie anti gravity devices) and all Covie ships can but i don't think any of those makes a good TT so i though that drops ships could be used as TTs.
This is were i need the inverted V hardpoint, i thought i'd put 5 (or maybe seven (7) as Bungie hides the seven everywhere) dropships in this flying V formation and they'd represent a TT.

Warp drives etc. will be replaced with slipstream space engines.
The Covenant
I don't know what kinda morale techs, industrial tech and others i'll make so this is but weapons outline.
The Covenant uses plasma based weapons mostly. They do have pulse lasers for point defense and close ship-to-ship combat. They also have an Energy Projector.... very powerful energy beam. Covies don't use projectile (mass drivers, missiles) weapons as starship weapons. Their defenses include ECM systems (to disrupt human missile guidance and counter the plasma torpedo guidance fields), armour (their ship have armor of course, no data wether it's as thick as human's vessels armour) and their primary defense are energy shields, sometimes powerful enough to absorb nuclear blast.

\----Massdrivers---none. (A Covie disadvantage, they will have a lot racial bonuses and strong techs)

UNSC
UNSC's techs will be unstealable probably, to simulate that Covies aren't interested in the human's technology, only in their destruction. Some UNSC tech require UNSC to steal some Covie techs, if it's possible to make things so. I have a backup plan too...
UNSC will not have Shield defenses unless they steal one shield tech from Covies. This will also lead to Spartan Project tech that will increase morale (more details later)
Energy weapons are also unavailable for UNSC unless stolen from the Covenant or they will require multiple techs before they're unlocked for researching. I haven't decided yet how i will do this.
UNSC will have strong AI (not enemy AI, but AIs like Cortana) techs, unknow what they will do though.

They will have strong bonuses to multiple things (like weapons)
They will have very weak research. (Covies aren't innovative, they simply copy stuff)
UNSC will have strong espionage (simulates that they reverse engineer stuff from the Covenant)

PLANETS, INFO ABOUT SCENARIOS
FOLLOWING CAN CHANGE ANYTIME (and possibly will due lack of ability to make scripted events to a scenario)
This mod will be a scenario with two playable sides (one scenario per side, some differences) and four minor races (i'll possibly make 'em major civs, to get things work, nothing sure yet)
The "minor" civs will be URF (United Rebel Front, check the Halopedia), The Covenant Heretics (Halo 2... Halopedia again) The Flood and Forerunners (just robots, lead by a Monitor, based on planet Onyx)
In the UNSC version the player will start on Earth and has couple of colony ships at start. The Covenant will have quite many planets... The Covenant version will mirror UNSC version.
