Its my impression that the last few races are 'better', i.e. more fun to play, because, they nudge you to play in a way that fits their back-story better.
I was finding in DA that i played every race the same way. Since super breeder was perhaps the most powerful(??) power I usually played them or a custom race with Super Breeder. I found playing other races just followed the same path. and ethics was a simple choice of evil (easy-mode), neutral (normal-mode) and Good (hard-mode)
Yet I felt from the Kyrnn onwards in TA there is now much more incentive to play the way the race intends. So for example with Kyrnn, its now much more compelling to 'convert'. The Korx are now much more fun to trade and deal with. And the Drath are excellent fun. Hard to start but a blast to play actively manipulating all the other races. In fact I think the last 3 races out have been superb work from the stardock team.
I am very much looking forward to the next few races so long as they are as good as these. I wonder if maybe the first few are finalised (because while good are not as good as the last batch), and I also look forward to new ethics and hope they give you a reason to choose matching the back-story)
Anyone else think the last batch of races makes the game suddenly far more engaging and diverse then it was?
