Influence borders are wrong upon reload

The influence borders of each civilization are wrong upon reloading a game, and the difference can be vast in a high influence game in larger Galaxies. If you are using an influence conquest strategy, like I commonally do, each time you reload can set you back several turns over the same game played without the reload. Some factor is not being added in, which can be easily demonstrated by reloading a game, and then building a economic starbase in the middle of your territory, far from your borders.

Your screen cap links were broken so I didn't check, but AFAIK you're reporting a known issue in DL. I recently switched from the beta back to DL and the influence area after reload is "normally" smaller than it is "normally."

Scintor, you didn't do anything wrong. As GW has stated, this is a known issue. It has been awhile since I have played DL, but if I remember correctly, it only applies to the way the influence borders are drawn in the minimap, and doesn't actually affect gameplay. Also, if memory serves, the problem should resolve itself after a turn or so. Again, it has been awhile, so if I have made any mistakes, someone please correct me. One more thing; try to zoom in/out of the minimap. This may force it to be redrawn correctly.

Actually I was asking if anyone knew what I did wrong with the links so that they are not active.

Actually it is wrong on both the minimap and the main map. It does go away as soon as you or any other civ do something that alters an influence value. This is no big deal for small games where each turn takes 2-3 minutes. I like to play gigantic scattered abundant games on a slow computer. In the latter stages of each game each time I reload takes me 15-20 minutes to load a game and each turn takes me 30 minutes to an hour. I may only get to do 2-3 turns every session that I play. This makes reload problems a really significant factor in my game.

Nope. Multiple web links still don't work. Scintor, highlight and copy the address of the pic. Click the 'insert web link' tab. Paste the address into the box, and click 'ok'. I tried to post both of them at the same time, with the above result. Mumble posted on this problem a while ago. I will revisit that post and see if anything came of it. [Edit] Revisited post- no resolution to the prob. Here is the second link.WWW Link

You are welcome, Scintor. I do see what you mean, but I'm sorry- I don't have an answer for your problem. Perhaps someone else can help. Good luck.

Hey there! Just updating this issue. This bug is still around even on the TA beta. I have one additional part of the bug that I noticed recently. The bug is actually present on all games on the first turn and reload turns. If you look at the map on the first turn, there is NO influence border until you hit the turn button. It will appear if you colonize the other planet in you system on the first turn!

Somewhere I thought it was said that this was a 'feature' not a 'bug to help save game loading time. You didn't need to bump this age-old thread as this topic was just talked about recently (last week?).

Yeah, I brought it up just last week.

And this is one "feature" which needs to be revisited -- and removed.
