Where'd the scouts go?

For me, the default Scout ship seems to have disappeared in this version of DA. I don't ever get the option of building them. However, other civs seem to be able to build them. (Note that I haven't done any editing to the custom ship templates.) Is this the case with everyone else, or do I have a mystery error and need to do a reinstall?

The AI designs its own ships so even if all the core ships were gone, the AI would keep right on going.

The scout design was there when I played this weekend--which ship style were you using?

I was using a few different designs, over the course of a few games. I know I used Thalan and Human.

Scouts aren't there by default. No matter what race I play in DA.

Hmmm... I don't remember having the scout core ship either. This is with a custom race using Korath style for my ships.

Also just for the heck of it I scanned the DarkAvatar\Data\ShipCfg directory and found a listing for Scout.shipcfg for everything from S0-S11. Curiously though S12 was missing all except for one definition: S12_SolarFox.shipcfg. Then S13 lists all the same as S0-S11. No idea if this is intended or not.

Will have to pay attention to see if other race styles have a scout in the core ships since I know the AI builds a bunch them at the start.

The engine sizes were tweaked in one of the recent updates.  This has caused the default scout ship to be unavailable until you research miniaturization technologies. 

This is a known issue and has been resolved.   Thanks for reporting it.
