Missions/ mini-missions options would be interesting in a game.
An emperor, or a ruler of a major civilization, do need from time to time, to personally, and actively handle matters of great interest to him/her in the form of missions, rather than the usual, passivelyu choosing yes, maybe, no, or good, neutral, evil decisions for the random planetary events. Please add this as an option.
After completing a mission, reward can be increase in influence, extra cash, extra ships, extra bonus (production/research, military ground/ship attack, defend, damage, armor, speed, espionage bonus), extra planet, new technology, new planetary improvement etc...
There are a lot mission ideas and is only limited by the imagination. We should have this as an option enabled or disabled for the game, once enabled, there will be ramdom missions coming up from time to time, depending on what triggered it, though, player may or may not have to accept and fulfill the mission. If mission is rejected or not fulfilled, there will be mostly likely a penalty that will also depend on who issued, or who requested the mission.
If the mission is from an ally, failed mission means lower relation, break of alliance or at times declare war too. If it's from a wealthy merchant, failed mission may mean no extra jackpot cash bonus. If it's from a good aligned civ, and you are a good aligned civ as well and you didn't help, your alignment will lean towards evil. etc...
Yeah just like Ugleb mentioned Rome Total War was has this mini missions in the campaign. Medieval 2 Total War continues this mini-mission tradition too. And it would be nice if it's in GalCiv2..., DA
