Now that 1.1 has been released, the future updates will most likely include future bits of functionality and things to make the game nicer, well I've recently had an idea.
See, for a while, some of the ships I made just didn't look right. What was it? I mean, sure you can replicate ships from many different Sci-Fi universes in this game, or even make your own, but what was the thing missing that I wasn't able to figure out?
Well, I finally got it.
Matte.
All the starship parts/colors are shiny, which isn't bad for some ships and some cases, but is horrible for others. Now, if I wanted a bunch of giant, lumbering behemoths like the Nostromo or a Star Destroyer, I could make a close facsimmile, however they wouldn't look right because of the shine, so I promose the following: (And yes, I know that this game wasn't meant to emulate other things, but sometimes I want to make the terran ships look less like flying saucers and more like naval cruisers.)
Allow us, when picking ship colors, to decide if they are Matte, or Gloss.
Perhaps a checkbox, or something, I'm not sure, but I know I'd definately be able to have a matte color, and a gloss color, or two matte colors. For behemothic and monolithic ships, two identical matte colors, and for more fancy ships, perhaps a matte, and a gloss for extra snazzyness. Now, I know most of these suggestions go unread unless a ton of people read them and give them alot of bumps, and I know my idea wasn't the most succinctly put, but I do hope that someone manages to see this who also has run into the same situation as me and also thinks this is a good idea.
Just my two billion credits.
