I get really annoyed by starbases, sometimes. It would be nice to be able to invade them directly or subvert them in some manner. Realistically, though, most starbases would have some kind of auto-destruct sequence to prevent them being used by opposing races (if only by overloading the local fusion reactor).
Yeah the anamolies seem too generic. More variety and flavor.
So it is good thing to balance research? Go slowly in every branch? for the most part yes. Sometimes, especially for military techs, you need to concentrate in one area to get an advantage over your enemies.
I just finished that one last night. It is a real pain but can be done. First never try to engage the Dreadlords combat ships, its just a waste of time. Second from the very start buy a colony ship each turn for 4-5 turns. Spread out as quickly as you can. Also set your production to 100% and your taxes to where your approval is 50%. Its not my business but it seems to me that the 6.14.0010.8198 are nforce drivers for the motherboard. (or am I mistaken?) What video drivers do you use? Most people have 81.98 um 6.14.0010. 8198 is 81.98 i did update the sound drivers to 6.14.0462.0000 and it still happens. Oh and I also read the x2 core
