Evil Druid
I have won at the higher levels. I'm not playing the beta but according to the release notes for 1.1 the strategies I was using are going to have to change. Nothing wrong with that.
I think your current business model is great. Incredibly demanding on yourselves though. I was wondering how you and your team could possibly keep up the pace since the release. I personally don't play with beta's because I know I would not help in it's development. Thanks for all your hard work. I cannot wait for next weeks release. It will almost be like getting a new game again. It will even have new features I have asked f
Yes, the moving rally points has been number 1 on my wish list. Borismeow, My understanding is the Galactic privateer does not stop your routes from being attacked, it stops them from being discontinued because of an attack.
Agree with whismerhill on the bribing. There should be the red/green indication if your bribe is going to improve relations. I don't want to accidentally bribe on the 25 turn instead of the 26th and just lose everything for nothing. Nor do I want to have to count that high. Maybe have a option like, improve relations in the pull down menu with the attack/ make peace options. That way we could get the red green indication. <br/
Has anyone tried the no tech trade option with the Beta? How does it effect game play? Is tech bribing still allowed? I assume the human cannot trade techs with the AI neither?
Okay, you don't see the blue ship icons as well as the green planet icons moving down the right side of the big screen map? Quite large really. You just left click on the blue icon and it takes you right to the planet that produced the ship where you can launch or as I just now read, right click an launch it right away.. Another way is to set up colony rally point. So all ships produced by that colony automatically launch to the rally point. Set up in the governors area or
From Brad's did you know you can do this? sticky in the forums.... 5) You can play a quasi-Hot seat game with someone by loading up the game as GalCiv2 cheat (use the cheat parameter). Then when you set up the game, you let the AI play out a few turns and then have your friend pick one of the races they want to control. Have them select that unit and hit CTRL-SHIFT-Z.
Bring it on!
Good idea DarknessRS
LW you know you have to create the game in the metaverse section. Click on Metaverse button not new game button from the main menu. Maybe you have an old Diplomats/core link which can create problems Molotov is closed by the way. The moose trashed the place in a rabbid snack attack. We moved your private stock of brews to area 61.
I think number 5 is the result of the negative integer bug after a mini soldier attack when only mini soldiers are left. The the computer then interprets the negative population number as a very large number. It is being fixed and trust me thread I read it on explained it a lot better then me. Seen it a couple times. Two turns its gone without doi
If you are not seen as a threat. Meaning very low military rating compared to theirs. They will trade these Techs way more freely.
One accidental click of the mouse can destroy your game without this feature. Specially when your learning. There was talk that at the higher levels they might turn off the feature in the future. On the other hand the ship upgrade feature is kind of useless on a large scale upgrade. Way cheaper to build then to rebuild. Maybe these two features balance each other?
Wait tell there fully decked out and buy them off the AI. I have taken the AI's planets with there own influence star bases built to protect against my influence. As long as they don't see you as an imminent threat they'll sell just about anything if you offer enough.
Never played a team game but you would think if your the only your team left, you have already won. Game over. Alliance victory. Do you have the alliance victory condition turned off?
About the medals, I see them with this URL: Link, but not with th
In Gal Civ 1 you were completely blind like is being requested. On the highest level though the AI knew where everything was but you did not. You would have to play 20 minutes to discover you had no chance to win and the AI had gone straight to the best planets. This way is fair to both sides and you don't waist time starting on an impossible map. Win at the highest level before you start to worry about having to much of advantage.
I love the idea. A rally all ships and a rally all planets would be nice too. It's a bit of a pain when you have 15 planets and have to go through each one individually to set
I suffered the same problem. I was leaving the planets I conquered as is. Some had like 9 factories on them. Had to learn to prune and rebuild the planet to balance them.
Another possible strategy for this type of victory would be to keep the others at war with each other. Bribe and supply to keep the wars going, like a cold war super power. Keep friendly or close relations with everyone. Maintain a decent military number to keep everyone honest. As the AI's begin to surrender they will most likely surrender to you. Their friendly benefactor that has supported them from the beginning. Thus spreading your p
Would it not be great if you could click and hold on a rally point and drag it moving it where ever you want! All the ships on or going to that rally point would follow. Be even quicker and easier then goveners. As the battle moves you just drag the rally point forward. No resetting the colony and then the ship rally points again and again.
Okay I found the default button. let's see Actually don't see anyone medals now.
You do get alot of control on what your map will look like just not your starting position in it. I have not a had a to easy game yet. When I do I'll just increase the difficulty level. With the influence togle on the mini map turned on you get a pretty good idea how things are going to shape up without waisting time on maps you don't want. This is a big improvement from the Gal Civ 1 when it took 20 minutes to find out you had no chance. <
Roy, what do you guys serve in this place? Why are your gas grills so big? What you been cooking, Roy? Those don't look like any sheep i've ever seen.
