I agree. I would love to see both of those ideas go into GC III.

Being a new player, I bought the Ultimate(For once I did not write "Ultima" from having too many Lord British flashbacks LOL) Edition I have to say that this is worth every penny. I LOVE the keyboard guide! One question though, I see that I have it registered under Impulse. If I ever lose my disc and have to reinstall it for some reason is it like Steam to where I can download it without paying twice?
Well, I'm doing my part by being 100% legit.
I just bought the Ultimate Edition at Best Buy. So far, I love this game. But dang, it's hard to stop!
I have just played since last Friday so I am no expert. I send my flag ship to the anomalies and collect money, economic bonuses or what not. I send my mining ships to asteroids and they automatically build mining bases. I could be wrong about this but it looks like constructors build only and upgrade starbases. I bet some of the vets here could give a lot better advice than this! Hope ya figur
Have you tried the all colonies spreadsheet screen? It shows each colony, if it has at least one ship in orbit, how many total tiles and how many built upon or building and how many empty, what improvement is under construction and also what ship design. Additionally, it shows the mil prod, the build prod, and the res prod, and which one (if any) has been tpggled for focus. From that screen, one can build an improvement and
Ok, I did a small galaxy and got the basic hang of it. I was the Altarians and the other civilization was the Terrans. One thing I'm wondering is how do you guys and gals keep on top of all your planetary projects in the larger galaxies? I looked and did not see any option to let the governors choose their own projects. And for an Ascension(That was a great DOS game by the way!) resource, is that picked up by a miner ship like an asteroid? <p
Ultima Edition?
ROFL LMAO!!!!!!! I'm having too many Lord British flashbacks!!!!!!!!! [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
Well, after a year of not playing from real life issues I bought the Ultima Edition last night. I started playing on small galaxy to get feel for the game at 1 in the morning and next thing I knew it was 3:00 AM!!!! [e digicons]:omg:[/e] It was like I blinked my eyes!!!!! One thing I cannot figure out how to do is to queue ship building on a planet like I do with land structures.
Thanks for the tips!
I'm glad I found this thread! I had problems learning how to play this last year but I bought the Ultima Version today and i'm giving it another shot! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Oh I had to disable autosave to keep the game from crashing. Boy, I need to make sure i save often!
Where did you find all that debug info?
That makes sense, I keep having CTD too, maybe its the autosave, I'll try turning off the auto save.
Hey guys! I have a question for everyone. What size galaxy would you recommend for a brand new player and how many races? Abundant planets or no? If anyone could please answer this and anything else I have overlooked I would appreciate it very much! Thanks!
I love Ascendency. I still play it on a regualr basis. The choke points are really awesome. I have to agree with the A.I. issue but I still like it a whole lot. Still have the original CD too. Now that I read this thread i'm gonna have the soundtrack running through my head
Here is a game that I can play with the CD put away neatly on a shelf and still able to play on a desktop or laptop without worrying about remembering the CD before I leave. It's ease of play and most of all, its a fun game. Stardock, thank you! If you keep this type of quality up you will have my $$$ again!
I'm playing my first game. I chose the Terrans, a huge galaxy and abundant planets. I have colonized about 10 planets so far, built about 4 starbases and have no clue of what I am doing. But one thing is sure, this game is fun to play!
Thanks! I thought it was like Civilization II where a governer did everything. You helped a lot!
Ok, I'm gonna ask a really dumb question so please be patient with me. How do I set a planet on auto pilot so I don't have to baby sit it? I went to the governor menu and clicked on the automatic upgrade option but nothing is being built on the planet and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. If someone could explain step by step on how to have a govenor take care of his/her planet i would be greatful. Thanks guys!
lol!
I'm glad you like it! I just started playing myself and boy does the time fly!
wow, I forgot about that PDF format. thanks guys!
I need some advice. My game manual got lost while moving, and being a new player, I can't figure out what to do with a starbase once it is built, or how to install a module. The only option that is highlighted is "destroy' and I really don't want to do that! Can someone please help? I have one economic and one military built so far but I am lost on what to do next. thanks in advance everyone! <img s
